Most everyone who responded to my last question stated thet they would go out of their way to help a loved one, but would be inconvenienced helping someone they cared less about.

So here's the follow up. If you knew of someone who was ill and alone, or who was ill and had young children at home, what would you do to help that person? To help that family?

Or would you do nothing at all?

REMEMBER...You don't really care too much for this person.

krnsspott...Of course I believe that the vast majority of people are decent at heart. I've always believed that.

However, people are very attuned at telling you what you want to hear. So I try to trip them up,make them examine their own inner selves a little more.

Is that right of me to do so? No, it most definately is not. No one ever died and appointed me this position. But people can become blinded by things over the long haul, and sometimes someone is needed to stir up the pot a bit, and get things cooking.

The people who actually answer my questions tend to give very deep, intelligent answers for the most part. So how can that be a bad thing?

well, my motherly insticnts always kick in....there was this family a couple of years ago, that had 2 boys and the mom was mentally ill (she was there, but had such anxiety attacks it was awful) ....I was over there helping them 3-4 times a week.....cleaning their house, cooking for them...I even got that whole place organized for them. to be honest, I didnt really like either of them that much personally(the parents)....but how could I not help...it was just the right thing to do!

I am a nurse, I work to help people that I don't really care about every shift. I have helped others outside of my job as well. It dosen't matter if I like someone or not (I do try to love everyone) that is not what helping others is about.

Yes, I would help them a little, and direct them to Welfare, Red cross or other organizations that are there for that sort of thing.

I would still try to help them, taking food, etc, just doing whatever I could to be a helping hand

even if i didnt care for them, i'd still feel bad for the kids.. so i'd try to find some kind of service or organization to help out.
