Does Jesus honor His Mother? Yes He did and He does. As the perfect Man... He honors her in the most perfect way (and not just on Mother's day.)

Before you read on and answer, read this note:

NOTE: The Catholic Church DID NOT, DOES NOT, and WILL NOT teach that we should worship Mary or that Mary is a diety or some goddess.

We worship the ONE True God who is Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit and we ONLY worship God.

The Catholic Church teaches us to HONOR Mary... just like Jesus does.

So the question: Since Jesus honors His Mother Mary... "Do You Do What Jesus Does" (DYDWJD)?? Why or why not?

pooh_bear: "Jesus wouldn't expect me to treat her any differently than any mother."

So I guess you don't honor your mother... remember the commandments!!

The CULT says ""Hail Mary"

Actually the truth is that Angel Gabriel (God's messenger) greeted Mary by saying:

"Hail! Full of Grace!"

"I praise the Lord that I was resued from the catholic church and was born again...."

The truth is, you were "born again" and became a Christian when you were Baptized with water and Spirit (John 3:5)... you just didn't start living like a Christian until much later. (assuming you are living a Christian life)

"i honor my mother,if the catholic church really worships God,why it seems you're only worshipping Mary?"

I guess some people decide to just skip over the note!! ONCE AGAIN:

Yes, we WORSHIP ONE God and God ALONE.

NO, the Catholic Church does not teach anybody to WORSHIP Mary. We are to HONOR Mary... not worship.

There is a GIGANTIC difference between HONOR and WORSHIP.

"however how is it that she is not a diety when Catholics pray to her?"

The word "pray" means to "Entreat", "Implore" (i.e. to "ask") as in "Pray tell me the time" or "I pray your permission to speak". (look in the dictionary)

So when we "pray" to Mary, we are asking her to joing us in asking God, her Son, for something.

When you ask your fellow Christians to pray for me... you are "praying" to them to ask God to Help you.

"Pray will you ask God to Help me"

The catholic church has statues all around the church and prays to mary. She cannot do anything for anyone. She was Jesus mother, and brought our savior into this world. The catholic church does not teach salvation through accepting Jesus as their savior and repenting their sins to Him. They still use a meadator which is a priest in a closet. I am a former catholic and I have been through that entire gambit. The catholic church will have to stand before God on judgement day and answer for all the souls they misled and cause them to end up in hell. That is fact. I praise the Lord that I was resued from the catholic church and was born again when a young man led me to christ, as I accepted Jesus as my savior..

When the catholics pray to the statue of mary they are not worshiping God or Jesus, they are worshiping another other than them.

Deuteronomy 7:25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

I see your point, and love the acronym DYDWJD. I agree that Mary should be honored, however how is it that she is not a diety when Catholics pray to her? I understand that Catholics pray to her so that she will speak to God on their behalf, however what's wrong with just praying to God? Is it believed that God can do all things, but he can't handle the entire world praying to him at once? Just curious.

To answer your original question, yes, I do honor my parents, because I wouldn't be who I am today without them.

Honor? Sure, I guess so.
Make statues of and claim that she is sinless? No, no, I don't do that.
Claim that she was a perpetual virgin even when she had other children and there is no Biblical evidence for perpetual virginity? No, no, I don't do that either.
Pray to her that she help me "now and in the hour of..." even though she is not omnipresent like God and must then rely on God to be her messenger boy to deliver these prayers because He is the only omnipresent One? No, no, I don't do that either.
Claim that she in anyway intercedes for sinners even though the Bible says Jesus is our only mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). No, no, I don't do that either.
Honoring Mary is regarding her as God's chosen vessel and thanking God that He would use any of us for His perfect works.

Jesus is no respecter of persons . He honors all the women of God just the same as his earthly mother, Yes while he was a flesh man he truly did honor his mother above others, she was the one that brought him into this world to do the work of his father GOD ALMIGHTY, AND YES HE DID LOVE HER VERY MUCH, BUT WHEN HE WAS ABOUT HIS FATHERS BUSINESS and she asked for him ,,, He said who is my mother, who is my family??? he pointed to the crowd and said ALL THESE THAT DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER, they are my mother, they are my family. Christians they are his family.

OK how about this one:
WWJB-Who would Jesus Bomb (or blow)
WWMW-What Would Mary Wear

These silly little acronyms are absolutly ridiculous. And yes I have seen these.

Jesus honored His mother Mary because she was HIS mother, she wasn't my mother. Jesus wouldn't expect me to treat her any differently than any mother.
