I created a reading spot for myself. A pretty chair with a little table for my tea and reading glasses. A reading lamp and a basket next to my chair for reading materials. It is my cozy little God-spot, though we are commanded to pray without ceasing which means I try to be with him every moment of every day. Nevertheless, this chair is my little haven where I do my Bible studies and pray and think on Him. In the winter time I add a neck pillow that warms in the microwave and of course a pretty little lap blanket.
I tend to have my morning coffee there and my evening tea. This means I am spending morning and night time with Him, though as I said, I am also practicing Brother Lawrences book "Practicing the Presence of God" all day, even when I am out and about.
I recommend creating a God-spot in everyone's home.

I pray to Him as often as I would talk to my parents who also live far away from me. I tell Him about my concerns as they arise, and also ask Him for help when I need it. I also thank Him when I see that my prayers have been answered and He has listened. I like to open the Bible and read from it everyday, and on certain days throughout the week I meet with those in like faith to praise and learn more about our fabulous Creator. Other days I spend time telling others of Him (this amounts to about 70 hours every month) and His purpose for the Earth.

it doesn't matter how long I spend with God, it's between you and Him. He will be happy if you spend any time at all. Keep an open dialogue with Him all day, remember He is interested in all the things in your life, big or small. I often pray for a good parking spot, or tell Him about my conversation with my neighbour.....it doesn't trouble Him at all.

The science-fiction author, Robert Heinlien, sums it up pretty well for me.
The most preposterous notion that H. sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all history.

Devoting time to God isn't about praying. Every time you show tolerance and love for your fellow human beings you're devoting time to God because that's what he really wants. When you meet him face to face he won't say how often did you pray he'll say how did you help other people.

Why do we need to allocate time to a mythical dictator? I've no time for such things and I certainly didn't vote for him.
Seriously, if you want to spend your life in sycophantic parise of a non-existant being, it's your choice, but the real question is - why waste your time?
