I am not using anything new on my skin, nor have I changed my routine or switched detergents. This has happened before and it hurts like mad. And, YES, I have already talked to my doctor about this and it's usually the same thing.... she prescribes something that doesn't work.

The strange thing is this "condition" doesn't happen all the time. It'll go away for months at a time then reappear out of no where. Also, when I was pregnant with my daughter, during my 3rd triemester, it was my belly that popped up with blisters.

HELP!

It could be an allergy, or u may need to get aloe vera gel that stops itch in its tracks or some babyoil.
Could just be dry air in your home, keep a pot of water somewhere with a pinch of salt in it.
When u bathe , soak in some olive oil bath water, when u rinse rinse with hot, then cold and put aloe vera on skin....u will see a difference immediately

It sound like something that happens to me from time to time. Try changing your soap. Sometimes, you can get used to a soap and then it will dry out your skin. Switch to something with extra moisturizer - I recommend Aveeno - and use a "poof" sponge. Then after you get out of the shower, use plenty of body cream - again, Aveeno has some great ones with an oatmeal base. Be careful not to use super hot water - that can add to the dryness and itchiness.

Try cortisone cream and take some oral benadryl. That should relieve the itching. See if you are wearing the same outfit every time the itching starts. You may discover that you are allergic to the fabric or that there is something you are wearing that is irritating your skin.

If it is related to a yeast (candida) overgrowth, then hormonal imbalances leading to blood sugar imbalances may cause it to flare - and pregnancy can be considered one big hormonal imbalance.

www.hufa.org has some basic info on yeast. Yogurt with live acidophilous bacteria is one of the most powerful foods. Anti fungal creams or powders (candida is a fungus) may help stop the itching on the outside.

There is an oil I found in a local nutrition store that seems to help: My skin itches badly under certain weather conditions too. Also, my husband in the winter has trouble with his hands drying so much they crack and bleed, and the oil seems to help with that.

Good luck!

Try Shea Butter or cocoa butter. This happens to me in the winter sometimes...when the air is drier...good luck! you could also try a cortisone cream.
