My ipod mini, does that! Try lookin on the apple website for tips
on how to save your battery! It might need the battery changing, and if your ipod is still insured it won't cost!!!

That happened to me but the other day it froze so i reset it by holding down the menu and the select button 4 six seconds, then i reset the settings. I didnt lose any of my music but for some unknown reason, since then the battery life has been great...try it

depending on what iPod you have... it could be a faulty battery.
There was a lawsuit which completed about a year ago in favor of iPod owners. Court ruled the faulty batteries needed to be replaced.
This was on 3G iPods (with the four buttons above the scroll wheel)
If you have a different iPod, don't know what to tell you.
You can send your iPod in to have the bettery replaced, but it's not cheap

...........always let the battery discharge completely before charging It up again..............had you been re-charging it every day?
