There is a consensus among the scientific establishment that evolution is a fact. Where there is disagreement is to HOW evolution works. In other words, scientists are varied with regards to the inner workings of evolution, but all admit that it does exist. Unfortunately this internal squabble, related to the mechanisms of evolution, are portrayed by creationists, intelligent design theorists, or anyone who despises evolution because of its supposed theological implications, as there being great discord among the scientific community concerning whether evolution is true at all. Its this deceptive depiction, by many evangelical Christians, that has lead to the increased public opinion that scientists have abandoned evolutionary theory as a valid concept, when nothing could be further from the truth.
If I had to summarize on a scale of 1-10 just how pervasive the belief in evolution is among the scientists, I would have to say 9. The one hold out would be the minority position held by scientists who insist on using science to promote creationism. Its that minority that would prevent me from assigning a 10 to the theory.

The term evolution is fact (10), which means a change in a gene pool over time. The flu virus evolves every year because of the previous year's vaccine. This is why we have a new vaccine every year.
The real debate it human evolution. That theory is that man evolved form a lesser species that is a common ancestor to monkeys. Creationists will give this a 0 or a 1. Scientists would give it around a 8 or 9.

Evolution is a real journey that has been stated to ensue, and consequently would truthfully be an excellent 10 on your scale. the assumption of Evolution via organic determination by way of fact the reason of how the stated fact of evolution in living organisms has got here approximately would additionally be a 10 interior the sector of biology. regrettably, the undesirable and appalling state of the yankee academic gadget has decreased this popularity to three 3 among the final inhabitants of u . s . a .. maximum different western international locations have a lots greater popularity of evolution. Judging from the solutions i've got considered in different evolution suitable questions here, even those individuals who help evolution don't are responsive to it o.k..

Evolution is a fact. The Theory of Evolution is only a theory. That humans evolved from lesser life forms is considered a fact by all reputable scientists. The exact steps of the evolutionary process are the only things debated. Xians have spread lies about this excessively. "Christian Science" is an oxymoron. Even the Vatican recognizes evolution as fact. The fundies think the Catholics are going to hell anyway.
The theory(ies) of evolution does not state that humans evolved from monkeys. It states that monkeys and humans evolved from a shared forefather. Xian fundamentalists seem to love spreading this little bit of misinformation while sitting on their tailbones. Where did that little ole tailbone come from, anyhow? Probably from the same place that the fundies think all these "fake fossils" came from.

Evolution is a fact. There are bacteria that are now resistant to antibiotics that were not resistant 30 years ago. Debate over. Evolution proven at a 10.
Evolution as the origin of species is subject to debate, and you will find that most people who argue against evolution are really trying to argue the origin of species, not evolution per se. They just do not understand biology, and have listened to to many other people that do not understand biology who say that evolution is unproven.

I believe there are 5 types of evolution.
Where did the universe come from.
How did the galaxies form.
How did the solar system form.
How did life start.
How different kinds of life change.
Only the last one is science, it is called micro evolution. The other 4 are theories and must be accepted by faith.

According to Newsweek in 1987, "By one count there are some 700 scientists with respectable academic credentials (out of a total of 480,000 U.S. earth and life scientists) who give credence to creation-science..." That would make the support for creation science among those branches of science who deal with the earth and its life forms at about 0.14%.
