Have one, use one.... Love it. BIG difference than just doing crunches on the floor. I do crunches (reg, side, etc) , push ups.
Theres an exercise called the pass thru where you put the ball between your ankles, lift them up and pass to your hands. Then back again. Its a SUPER DUPER crunch!!!
I started working with a personal trainer a few months ago and was introduced to this and I notice a huge difference with my results and the way I feel after. You definitely feel it more and the ball saves your back!!
The Bosu is awesome too, thats the half ball... You can do squats on top of it. Side bends, arm curls and all that balancing while working out on it increases the workout.

The balls are fantastic. Start by switching it out for your computer chair...I have...and you can totally tell the difference in your abs..you have to sit and balance the whole time you're on it so you're constantly working your core abdominal muscles, pulling everything in nice and tight. You can also do crunches on the ball...which work your abs like you know, but doing them on the ball you are also balancing so you're using all the side muscles, buttocks and legs to steady yourself. Push-ups can be done with your lower legs up on the ball...those are great as well. These are definitely not a rip off like someone mentioned. Heck they're inexpensive anyways and really do work that core. If toning up your abdomen, legs and butt then the ball will help get you really great results...You can also lie on your back on the floor and put the ball between both your legs and lift it...repeat the action, hold it up there...you'll feel the muscles in all of your legs working to hold the ball up and down. Also while lying on your back toss the ball up and catch with both arms...this really works your upper arms and backs of the arms if you need toning in that area as well. There are really so many things you can do with the ball...I hope you put it to good use and see some excellent results..I love mine. Good luck!!

There are many workouts you can do on the ball just for those areas. I'm an instructor for that class. I would love to go over them with you but it would be hard (and wordy) to go over them all. However, Gunner Peterson has some wonderful workout videos that are perfect for what your looking for. I rate the ball the best piece of equipment for working out. I even use it as a weight bench.

My take is that it's just another gimmick that someone sold you. They are always coming up with somehting new to sell to the public, and the public never seems to question the reality - just look at the foxy babe doing it on TV, and it's gotta work.
Reality is, doing abdominal exercises should tone up the tummy. Don't expect a 6-pack tummy from any exercise, especially ones done on a "ball". 6-packs come from extremely low body fat.
Good Luck

Yes, I have one, they work great. You can work any part of the body, just as well as in the gym. I use it for sit ups, squats, lunges, press ups, pelvic tilts, and like the above poster mentioned you can use it as a weight bench to work out arms and chest. It's definitely worth investing in one. HTH : )
