I just got the role I wanted in the school play and it involves a lot of flirting and hugging and stuff like that. My boyfriend comes to my practices but always ends up irritated and then he's a pain to be around. Jealousy is what it is. But I don't know how to make him understand that it's just a play and I really don't like the other actor.

Ask him to stop going to your practices.

If I was in your shoes I would try to find my most kind, serene voice and tell him something like "You are important to me but this play is just as important, I need to not feel uncomfortable about what I'm doing because I will continue to do what's best for me. I also feel like you act different after my practices and while I understand I don't like the way you treat me. Maybe you shouldn't come see me practice, we can always see each other right after practice (that way he knows you are not sneaking out the back with the other guy once you are done with practice)"

Good luck!

the problem is high school love is 2 immature. Kids at that age cant see the difference between real and make believe. Im sure at that age i would have been jealous also. He obviously cares alot about u but he also needs to understand that hes ur b/f not the other guy and if its 2 uncomfortable for him then maybe he shouldnt go to the practice sessions.

Honey, you can't make him understand. Either he trusts you or he doesn't! If he can't understand that it is just a play\a role you are playing then it isn't worth it. What would you do if he got mad at you for speaking to someone? Would you stop speaking to that person or go on and tel him to get over it.? Life is to short to spend with someone who can't trust you. And that obviously is the issue.

You've already told him that you don't have any feelings for the other actor. You do not need to keep reassuring him. When he starts up about it, ignore him, don't coddle him. Also remind him that he doesn't need to go to practice and that if he's going solely to be irritating, he would be better off not being there.

I'm sorry, but if that is the case, he doesn't really love you! He is suppose to know that is is all drama, and acting, and that's it. So if he can't understand, than you should ask yourself what he's gonna do if you are out and being friendly with just a friend (I don't meen flirting).

I can understand your frustration but the only thing you can do is reassure him. There is nothing you can do about how he feels. You might lovingly tell him that if it affects him so much he might not want to watch. There is something you should know, his insecurities do not stem from you and the other actor. It has something to do with how he sees himself and possibly how his relationship is with his parents. From experience. Best wishes.

there is nothing you should do,he has to understand...its just part of your role...it's not like you wanted the part because you wanted to flirt or being hugged...

He is immature, I dont think he will understand. Just do the play and ask him not to coe to practice if it bothers him so much.

His behavior is ridiculous and he knows that you are just playing. You cant convince him otherwise..he sounds too possesive and personally you should drop him if he can't get on the clue bus about this.
