I need to add like a shaded effect on a cartoon im doing ^_^;

Using Acrylic paint ^_^

im not sure exactly what to call it..gradient? shade? blah i dont really know ^_^

but im going for something simlar to Turtles back, or Mario's jeans on this picture : http://lh5.google.com/yonbeastie/RQy3Apu-ABI/AAAAAAAAASo/hH2GUhs0jmM/IMG_2643.jpg?imgmax=640

Much help would be appricaiated ^_^!

Start with the darkest part of the area you want to cover and make a swipe across it. Then dip your same brush in water, swish out some of the color, and swipe across the area overlapping part of the first swipe. Repeat until you are done.

You could use an airbrush.
