I always wondered what effect it has on daughters, who know that their dad goes to strip clubs and watches porn?
Does it make you feel bad? Do you resent him for it? Or does it feel ok for you?
I mean for those of you who have close loving relationships with your dad, would you be able to love him the same way if you found out he enjoys porn and going to strip clubs?

My dad and I have a close relationship. It would bother me a great deal to think of my Dad in that way ~ him enjoying those things. I mean, yes he is a "Man" but he is my Daddy too. Just as I wouldn't like to know that my Mom would enjoy the same. I wouldn't resent him for it, I would still love him. I would probably lose some respect and admiration for him.

I think it depends on the age of his daughter. As an adult if I find out he's doing these types of things, I wouldn't be as shocked or confused or anything, I would roll my eyes and say "typical" and laugh it off. As a young girl or teenager I think my response would be a little different. They are not mature enough to understand I don't feel. If she had a close relationship with her father or wanted one, I think she would feel he objectified women and maybe act out. I'll give you an example I know of a man who doesn't use the restroom without permission from his daughter. I mean, it's crazy. She found the porn and started dressing and acting like these women to try and get her father's love (not sexual love, she didn't understand all of that) because she felt those were the kind of women her daddy loved. And since a girls first love is her father, she wanted to make him happy.

Just take a knife and stab me before I'd ever find out that my dad was never a real man and needed porn to falsely feel like one. Thank God you're asking and really want to know. The father should think how he would feel to find out that his mom did that? It's ver disturbing for a daughter and I'm sure it would be for a son.

I have a very close relationship with my father, but I don't think it would be a problem for me. People like different things and actually there are a lot of people who like porno movies and strip. We use to think that men more and women but ...sometimes women have it just more hidden.
Whatever, I think that sometimes its good to break down the rutine when you are married for 30 years. You know, I really dont care if he doeas these things, I only care that he love me, my sister and my mother and that he is a really great father.

Well boys will be boys. Porn and strp clubs are a part of life. I dont think he should be letting everyone know he is in to that as i think that is private. But it does no harm. If that is the worst thing a father does in life than you are lucky. If he is loving and a good father and there when you need him, than i think its fine to have a bit of fun in private.

Why are you holding your dad to a higher standard. He is still human and he is still a man. If he is dragging you to strip clubs or watching porn with you then he is wrong. If he talk about it with you then it is messed up. If he does it and doesn't talk about it then there is nothing wrong. All guys watch porn and all guys have been to at least one strip club. Don't be so naive.

I'm a grown woman. My dad has the right to do what ever he wants to and I definatley don't need to tell him any different. I feel that if the daughter is a teenager then it might be embarrasing for her and if the daughter in still in elementary school or younger then they don't even need to know what is going on.

I don't know if my dad does that kind of stuff and I highly doubt he does. But if I found out he was I would be mortified. My dad is a pastor and I would lose what respect I have for him.

my sister and i have found pictures of women on my dads pc and his mags...my dad and mom are divorced so i dont feel like hes cheating on her or anything..but it is creepy to think of my dad looking at hot girls in magz that are my age. i dont bring it up to him or really want to talk about it cuz its his personal life. the only way i would is if he made comments to me about women or left magz out when his grandchildren are over to find. but hes an adult and so am i.
