they dont always. Some women become engorged a week or better before delivery. Although you can have some small amounts of 'leakage' at anytime, since your breasts produce colustrum until after delivery, but its usually not a constant leaking thing until you're about to have the baby.

With me i only tended to leak if i was in a warm bath toward the end of my pregnancy (about 36 weeks) but after the birth when my milk came in after the 3rd day from birth,i leaked all the time i had to use nursing pads to prevent leakage on to my tops this was untill i stoped breast feeding which took about 4 to 5 days

For me, mine didn't start leaking until very late in the pregnancy and even then it wasn't anything you could notice or need a pad for. Once you have the baby and if you breastfeed you will get leaking then, especially at first. Once you get in to a routine it isn't a problem and you just use breast pads in your bra. If you choose not to breastfeed you won't really get any leakage and the milk will dry up quickly if it is not used.

It can happen at anytime. With my first I started leaking before I even knew I was pregnant--that was a nice hint. Other people it doesn't hit until later, about 7 or 8 months. I knew someone who made it until after birth. It can happen at anytime. Don't worry about it though, the more you worry when it happens, it seems the more that will come out.

Women dont become engorged BEFORE delivery. Most women start leaking colostrum around the 20th week, some before, some after. With my first I started leaking at 18 weeks, with my second they leaked the entire time because I still had milk from breastfeeding my first daughter. I have heard that your milk changes color in the days before delivery though.

Everyone is different honey, as you've probably gathered from all the answers you have!! It happened to me a week or so after having my little girl, and my god they leaked. I couldn't breast feed her so I guess thats why.
Hope that helps?

mine started when i was about seven or eight months pregnant some women don't leak at all though, it all depends on your body, also if and when you do leak it might not be to much, they really leak quite heavy when the baby is born

When my baby was born my friend was 5 months pregnant, well when it got about 2 months from her due date, every time my daughter would cry she would leak. It drove her nuts but like the rest of us she thought it was funny.
