Steroids are a potent antiinflammatory for the nervous system. If given in the first few hours of a vascular incident, they show good results. They must be given in a decreasing dose to aviod common side effects.

Stroke is rare in dogs. Could it be instead peripheral vestibular syndrome, geriatric vestibular syndrome, idiopathic vestibular syndrome or an inner ear infections or a cancer affecting the cerebellum??
Pred is an anti inflammatory, an immune-suppression, a cancer chemotherapy, used for Central Nervous System Disorders, and more. Was this for short term use?
