I believe the only place to get such a key with a chip, is through a dealership. Quite expensive too from what I hear. Good luck.

A car dealership will definitely be able to make a copy of the key, and many locksmiths also have machines to program the keys as well. I had mine made at a locksmith. But be prepared - they're expensive copies either way. It might cost you less at a locksmith than a dealership, though.

Any key maker can make you a copy which will unlock the door, so you can have a spare for your wallet. I have one because it is inexpensive and provides a back up in case I lock myself out, in a rain storm, far from home, with the motor running, again.

But that kind of key will not start the car.

My purse was stolen and i had to have all my keys remade. The pop a lock company that i called for my car made me a new one for a not so friendly price...it is expensive but i needed it at the time otherwise i wasnt able to get home.

Getting a new key made for our Mazda 3 was a big deal... we had to go to the dealer. Each key cost over $100. It took several days to get it made.

In order to make the new key - all existing keys needed to be "re-programmed". (So be sure to bring all your sets of keys with you when you go to get the new key made.)

You'll have to order it from the dealer. A key w/o the chip won't work.

YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH A COPT OF YOUR CAR TITLE OR CURRENT REGISTRATION
THAT WILL PROVE OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY WILL USE THE VIN NUMBER TO CODE THE KEY BLANK
THEN YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE THE TWO KEYS TO A LOCKSMITH TO HAVE THE NEW KEY BLANK CUT
BIG PAIN IN THE BUTT, ISNT IT ?
