There's a lot of whackjobs on this thing right? Right. Well, that being said, these alleged whack jobs ask alot of insane questions
things like "offing people" or illeagle things like drugs and other debouchery, and normal people assume that they are joking, and play into these questions and answer them like "oh yeah, do that"
or other answers that encourage these illeagle things b/c like I said they assume that they are joking. Well, did you ever think that
one day, these sick people are going to be serious and carry out
one of these crimes? Can someone who answered their question
be like, prosecuted, or like supeaned to court? Think about it. Scary huh?

Tough call. Like in a previous answer, with our sue-happy society just about anything is possible. Especially with the current so-called commander in chief insisting anything could be a potential act of terrorism. Other side of the coin is that most people ignore problems that aren't theirs, so I suppose that unless you actually gave out specific info regarding something illegal, (Like how to make a bomb, or where to find certain drugs), then most people in here might just make a stupid comment and forget about it.

Just for the record. It really bothers me when I see someone who seems to be suicidal or depressed or something... post a question and have other people prod and act like the person is joking. What if they aren't joking and the comments made by insensitve people push them over.

I think that most people here don't take these suggestions seriously.

Obviously whack jobs are everywhere, and yeah some of them will take the "advice" given by people who are "jokingly" answering their questions too seriously. This is normal, and this happens everywhere in life.

I think that most people shouldn't take the information given (or asked) on these messages too seriously, because, since it is open to ANYone and EVERYone, then of course alot of so-called "idiots" will post any old stupid answer/question.

I imagine that those questions & answers that are posted are deemed "OK" by the moderators of this Yahoo thing... yes, these questions / answers are moderated; I've discovered this the "hard" way...

In my defence, I guess you could consider me one of these "whack jobs" because I ask questions which aren't usually your run-of-the-mill typical teenage question. However, my questions usually revolve around OPINIONS, not suggestions, simply because I am curious as to what "the masses" may think on touchy and "taboo" subjects.

I also try to answer as seriously as I can, whenever possible. I don't believe in wasting time just to aquire 2 points for answering questions without merit. In fact, I began a database of sorts for commonly asked questions and then I jsut copy & paste the "answer" to those questions... I was getting tired of answering the "same" question 5 times a day because some people don't bother searching this Yahoo database for similar questions.

I wouldn't take things too seriously on this board however, because I think alot of people use it as an excuse to interact online with other people... Wait, isn't that essentially the purpose here? Oh well...

Cheers!

Well if a company can be sued for giving you a cup of hot coffee and then you spill it on yourself and then sue them and win then anything is possible. The guy that was on my space that killed all those people - a lot of the people that he talked to on there has had to spend some time in a courtroom but I have not heard of any of the outcome. You should watch what you talk about!!!

Not really scary. A whack job is going to do what a whack job is going to do irregardless of how anybody answers his question. As for repercussions to the answerer, while anything is possible, it is extremely unlikely. If prosecuted, there is no way you would be convicted.

If somebody was already predisposed to commit an illegal act, I hardly think that an answer somebody gives on Yahoo is going to be the final thing to make the person actually commit the act. And no, there is no reason to think the person that answered the question would be subject to legal action.

If you gave detailed suggestions, then you might be in trouble.

But, if you just say "oh yeah, do that" I think you could make a good argument that you were just kidding and that you couldn't have expected anyone to take you seriously. As you point out, we see those kinds of comments so often here!

U think a whackjob would care bout what another person thinks?
They'll do whatever they want , and i seriously doubt that someone can be prosecuted for giving amswers condoning their questions. Its not as if someone who answers their questions is ordering em to do it

I can't stand the questions where someone says they are suicidal and ppl answer to just kill yourself and get it over. That's sick. And, in that case, yeh, it might make a difference. The person asking is asking to be talked out of it, not encouraged. Duh.

You may want to consider investing in some magazines for the bathroom to keep your mind occupied
