I have been prescribed Darvocet and Tramadol. Neither are REAL opiates, but I will tell all of you that Tramadol, on an empty stomach, DOES give you an opiate high. I am not sure if Darvocet is used recreationally, though? I've heard you can get a similar feeling to Vicodin, is this true?

Tramadol is a narcotic but in a different class than darvocet & vicodin, it is much less addictive. You probably won't get much of a "high" on Darvocet either, although it is also narcotic.
Sounds like you need some help.

I don't think you get any type of high with Darvocet. I believe that is why many doctors like to prescribe it. People can and do get mentally addicted to many things, but I think the chances are very low with Darvocet. Tramadol I am not sure about. I took it once and I don't know what the deal was but I didn't feel well at all; it seemed as if it was too strong for me.

I ACTUALLY TAKE BOTH BECAUSE I SUFFER FROM SEVERE BACK PAIN, AND I DO NOT GET A HIGH FROM EITHER ONE. DARVOCET DOES MAKE ME SLIGHTLY TIRED, BUT NOT TO THE POINT WHERE I CAN'T FUNCTION OR DRIVE, AND VICODIN ONLY RELIEVES PAIN NO HIGH OR TIRED FEELING. IF YOU ARE TAKING IT FOR PAIN I WOULD RECOMMEND VICODIN BECAUSE IT WORKS BETTER. IF YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO GET HIGH I SAY PHUCK OFF AND LEAVE THE MEDICATION FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE ACTUALLY SUFFERING.
