There is only a minimum size and a maximum weight. Apart from that the only thing that matters is the velocity of the ball off the club face.

They were smaller and weighed a slight amount more. Companies like desperado and condor make illegal balls. They are just heavier and will go further. So buy urself some and hit it further. No biggie. Its all in fun.

One time when I was at the Memorial Tournament in nearby Dublin, Ohio, I went to the bathroom and found myself standing next to Ian Woosnam. American balls are bigger, definitely, and I unintentionally found out why they call him "Little Woosie."

They were smaller and travelled further predominately due to the less wind resistance. They are all the same today.Standards, go figure.
