my daughter has autism she is 16 i wanted to find her a private school that was small i dont care if it has a pool or a lacross team i just want her to be in a nice school to meet her needs .the school gives financial aid so its not for people with lots of money .i drive a 70,000.$ car and my daughter is gothic so everyone thinks whats wrong with this picture i am in no way a snob i would give anyone the shirt off my back but not one parent has even said hello to me one parent who is my friend and not wealthy said its not my daughter its your wealth scaring them they think your going to be a snob how can you judge a book by its cover?what should i do to make friends why would anyone feel this way i just cant understand it and i feel like such an outcast im sur if they got to know me they would see im not such a bad person i have a big heart and help many people.any advice?

What on earth did someone say to you to unleash this defensive posture? It seems that you perceive that you have unintentionally offended someone or put someone off.

Volunteer to do some dirty work, show up in jeans. Offer to do this every time they need it done. Be reliable and thorough in the job you do, without needing hand-holding to do so. Offer humorous but not cruel comments about any situation or news story you heard, or anything in your life. Show some vulnerability, humility and high regard for others. Works like a charm.

Some people might have jeolously problems.Others just feel intimadated by people who are wealthy.People feel they cant be theirselves around a wealthier person
