Where would the first US Nuclear response be if Osama was able to organize a nuclear attack on the US?

I heard that many of his followers left him after the Sept 11th attacks because he did not follow Islamic laws asking us to convert first. His son returned to Saudi Arabia for this reason. BUT NOW, he covered himself with his new videos asking Americans to convert or face the consequences. So in the eyes of many Muslims(mainly extremists) all future attacks are justified because he followed the Sharia Laws.

So who would the US' first response be against.? I'm pretty liberal, but if a nuclear attack hit our nation or any western nation, I would want a NUCLEAR response.

I appreciate that people are taking the high ground, but I wonder if they would feel the same way if Chicago or Boston or LA or Dallas or Seattle or Cleveland or Anywhere in the USA was no longer there.

Its a hypothetical question.

I would think that if we could not determine the source of the nuclear material, that would lead us to go directly after North Korea or Iran - non members of the IAE

I wonder if it wouldn't have been wiser to use tactical battlefield nuclear weapons in the Tora Bora region before we invaded Afghanistan to cut off the escape routes.

Pakistan would be invariably involved in an Islamic outfit getting a a Nuke or building one. Time and again many plots are traced back to that country. Musharaff might not have any control or he might be just fooling the West. But the fact is if one cannot control it, one should pay for it. Anyway, I dont believe he is as innocent as he claims he is. So Pakistan would be the first target.

First we'd have to determine where he got the nuke, not as hard as you might think. Every centrifuge that produces the material for a bomb leaves a distinctive signature that is detectable so it wouldn't take long to figure out where the material for the bomb came from. If it was Iran or North Korea........I'd make a strong bet there would be an ubelievable retaliation against those countries. If it was Pakistan.....they'd better have a very good explanation and if it was China or Russia........

This is why we are so concerned about Iran building nukes. Their story of only wanting to produce electricity doesn't add up however. Nuclear material for a reactor only has to be enriched to 3-4% whereas the material for a bomb has to be enriched to 99%. The nuclear watchdog inspectors found traces of uranium enriched to around 40%. That is what has everyone so worried and refusing to believe the Iranians.

If we knew it was Osama that sanctioned a nuclear attack on U.S. soil, I'm pretty sure that if we retaliated, our nuke would hit dead center on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The rumors and sightings of Osama have all been directed to that mountainous region right there at the borders of those two countries. I also think that the U.S. needs to stop taking it on the chin and then fighting back with countries who do us harm It's time for some preemtive measures against all the extremists out there. We need to stop worrying so much about what the rest of the world thinks of us and start taking care of our own. Half the world is dependent on U.S. products and loans. If we stopped shovelling money into their economies, maybe they'd shut their traps about how colonialist we've become. Look at how France always talks trash about us. It seems that they've forgotten that they would all be speaking German and eating brats and sauerkraut if it wasn't for the U.S. coming to their rescue in WWII.

It's actually fairly easy for N.E.S.T., a part of the Energy Dept., to identify from the residue, where the device originated from. If it was found to come from Iran, N. Korea, or any nuke power, they would be on the top of the list to suffer the consequences.

On Jihadwatch.com there is a report of a cleric from Afghanistan issuing a warning to Muslims in NYC to get out now because a nuke is planned to detonate there soon. I hope he is just blowing smoke, but I do not doubt anything they say in these regards.

considering the talk after 9/11 and that we use the term ground zero we were a lot closer to launching i think then many people realise it would be very bad to be iran or north korea or syria if the usa is nuked
