He is a 16 year old chow/pit bull mix. He has refused all food since Sept 16. I think he may have had a minor stroke then. He is still drinking plenty of water. He is listing to one side constantly and he holds his head at an angle. He was still very active and had a good appetite until he stumbled on Friday night.

Please if someone knows how I can help him, let me know. He is family.

You can help your dog by treating him with Rescue Remedy which you can get at a health foods store. It will not change the fact that he may be reaching the end of his physical life and be ready for you and a vet to ease him gently into the world of the spirit and it WILL help to make the transition easier for him emotionally.

The RR is for emotional healing, it will help him with fears, anxieties and even any pain he may be having now as his faculties fail. It is not a drug and cannot possibly do him any harm. It is something YOU can do for him and it will be effective.

We all feel so helpless when our pets are reaching the end of their lives and it is very stressful for us. The RR will actually help you face this trying situation, you can take some yourself -- just a few drops in half a glass of water. You will actually be "treated" just by holding the remedy in your hand when you put it on the dog's fur or put drops in his water bowl.

1) VET'S DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO BE ANSWERING QUESTIONS HERE.....

2) Take your poor ole dog to the vet!! If you consider your dog "family", then you should have taken him to the vet or an emergency animal hospital on Sept. 17th. Would you wait to take a (person) family member to the doctor or a hospital if you thought they had a stroke? Geezzz. Some people.

Ya, there are so many Vets just hanging out here, waiting to answer your questions for free.

It sounds like it is soon time to take a drive to your Vet. Once they stop eating it is usually time I am sorry to say. He has probably had a stroke, maybe with bigger ones to come. You don't want him to have alot of pain, and they don't usually go peacefully at home.

Only a fool would diagnose the problem online. Take your dog to a vet! If you don't want to do that then call the Psychic Friends hotline. Perhaps they can look into a crystal ball and tell you what's wrong. Next step would be to call an online spiritual healer and ask her to zap some good karma your dog's way to heal him. If all that doesn't work then refer again to idea #1 -take your dog to the Vet.

i think you should try BRINING YOUR DOG TO THE VET

if you think he had a stroke you shold have brought him to the vet immediatly. if it was someone in you r family like you say the dog is you would not refuse your family member proper medical care.
