I live in Derbyshire and am having terrible trouble finding any locally at the moment. I would like them in about 2-3 weeks time, and if possible, at Point of Lay.

NO rude comments please........

I wouldn't do that, If bird flu hits the UK this winter you might have to put them down.

Why not wait for a year?

where I am I went to the local flea market and got hens that were laying on the trip home, and still lay every day. If you can get the hen hatched chics, they are more lively and wise to preying animals and hawks.

Kinky.... have you tried the breeder directory's on net?
also the breed information sight are worth a try... finally try the local farmers stock auction houses (look in phone book) and ask if they know of any upcoming sales.

Good luck

A local poultry farmer may be interested in selling you a few birds. Try the yellow pages.
