I recently colored my hair from a light blonde(my natural color) to a dark brown. Im really happy with the way it looks only its starting to lighten up even thought im using a color protector shampoo. Any advice on how to keep my color or how often i can recolor. THANKS!

Salons generally suggest that you dye your hair every 4-6 weeks, but you might be able to go a couple weeks longer. If you still need a boost of color between sessions, try using a color gloss. It only takes 10 minutes and can be found at most drug stores. A tip for keeping your color looking vibrant longer is not to shampoo your hair everyday. You can rinse it with water and a light conditioner, but the color protecting shampoos can and will strip the color if overused. Try to only wash your hair when it is really dirty.

I know there is limitations but perhaps apply a semi-permanent color between permanent color applications. might slow down any damaging affect from to much permanent apps

Beware that there are chemicals in the dyes that are harmful to the scalp and the human body if over-used.

every 2-3 months. If you do it sooner, it can burn or damage it.
