Dating a guy I met. We have a great time together, really enjoy one another's company. But, once in awhile he freaks out a little on me (i.e. reinforces how hurt he was in last relationship and not going to commit again). I can't seem to convince him that I am not interested in getting married, just like his companionship. Give me a little advice, please. Have been out of the dating circuit for quite some time.

I did the on line dating thing for more than a year and one thing that I realized is that most people are dating on line for "one reason". For instance, I didn't do so well at meeting women at bars and social events because my game wasn't that great under pressure. However, in a more casual setting I was able to get along with women better and was able to show that I am a nice guy. In other regards, some guys use on line dating because they are awkward, unattractive, control freaks, stinky, socially awkward, etc. (the list goes on).
That said, this guy uses on line dating because he's been hurt and wants to make sure that it doesn't happen again. You need to let him know that if he is looking for a serious commitment and you don't want that, then maybe you guys should look to see other people. I feel that if one of the people in a relationship is not getting what they want, then the relationship will end harder the longer the relationship is carried out (if that makes sense).
I've had good luck with on line dating (been dating my girlfriend for almost 2 years now, met on line); you need to be patient and find someone that has the same attitude you do in regards to dating. In your relationship with this guy, it sounds like the two of you want different things.

I recently met someone online....He's a great guy....I think it's just tough sometimes (from my own perspective) because right now it has to be a long distance relationship....and that makes people feel insecure sometimes....Good luck to you both!

huh, most guys wont bring up the subject, they are just happy to be getting some with no strings attached. dont mention it, and dont worry about it, and he will get used to the idea before long.
