ever since he was a kitten my cat has a habbit of chewing buttons on clothes, does anyone know a reason for this?!

Mine just chews on buttons if I am wearing the clothes... go figure. I don't let him indulge in it. But then, when he does it he's usually cuddled up close to me and I can gently put my palm over the button and distract him. I think it's just an idiosyncrasy.

It's just something small that he likes to play with...fits perfectly in his paws and mouth...and I think cats have a sense of humor about things as well...he probably just gets a kick out of buttons...

Cats pick some strange things to chew on. I wouldn't worry about it unless kitty starts swallowing them. Just keep your clothes away from kitty if he/she is messing them up.
