If you "love" this stranger enough to settle down with him and spend the rest of your entire life together, won't you still feel that way if you date and get to know each other for a year or 2? There is a difference between spontaniety and recklessness. Inviting someone who you truly do not know into your life to that degree is reckless, and you could be setting yourself up for some major trouble. Spontaneous is taking a last second vacation somewhere, not plotting the course of the rest of your life with someone you don't know.
