About 4 years ago i walked alot, and i was very thin. I have stopped walking and have become very unhealthy. I have started back walking now for 3 months and i have noticed no change. When i do walk i tend to stop and dance in my tracks. Is that a bad tecnique? Do i need to hold my body up a certain way. The music i lsten to is high paced. Why am i not seeing any changes? When i was thin i could eat what i wanted and still lost weight. I am dieting and wakling and still no changes. I want to know everything i can about walking and loosing weight. I am also going to start walking my dog everywhere with me. What am i doing wrong?

Four years ago, you probably had a great metabolism; now that you have gotten older (myself included) it is a lot harder to lose the weight. What you need to start doing is increasing your heart rate so you body is burning more of your body fat. But sometimes just excercise won't be enough; you may need to start eatting healthier. Start off with a small breakfast in the morning, this will help your body's metabolism start working and it will help you burn calories/fat through out the day. Eat smaller meals with fruit/healthy snacks between meals.
The biggest thing is to KEEP AT IT. You won't lose the weight you want by just walking/jogging once a week...you'll need to put forth a decent amount of effort, but you can do it.

Good luck.

Try isometrics (flex and hold muscle) in problem areas at the same time. For me, I indiscreetly hold my hips forward (leading my body) It worked for me in about 6 weeks.
