I worry constantly and even dream of things that worry me. I will say this, it can be a disorder. I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which causes me to worry and obsess over things, I choose not to medicate cause I may be trying to have another child soon, but there is medication out there to help calm your worries. Light doses can be given.

Since I am not medicating, I watch alot of tv, cause even hobbies cause me to obsess over them being perfect upon completion....

If your worrying about things that are reasons to be worried, like your kids or bills.... well get a game plan.... a plan with help you feel in control.

I hope this helps.... but if you are anything like me, see a doctor, have the burden lifted.

I have suffered with constant worry all the time also for over 10 years. My worries are non sensical and irrational. I tried to think of positive things to stop the worrying but i still had the current worry in my mind. I felt i couldnt concentrate on reading or even watching tv. I have recently been prescribed diazepam which i can only take when the constant worry turns to that knotted feeling of anxiety. You may need some counselling. It is ok for people to say stop worrying about something you cant do nothiing about but they are not the one suffering. Constant worrying will spiral out of control if u are not careful and will become a cycle difficult to break. Look at General anxiety disorder on the web. nhs site is good.

the first thing you need to realise about the things we worry about is that 99% of these things never happen, so we mostly worry for the sake of it. When we worry, what happens is that we become focused on it. so you need to break that focus by dismissing the worries, especially if you have no control over the outcome. If i have a difficult meeting at work say on Friday that might be a little worrying , i say to myself, every time i think about it, i will not think anymore until Friday. dismiss it out of your head. It is something you can learn and retrain your thought patterns to let go. it won't happen over night. when you find yourself worrying, let it go. the more you do it the better it will become.

When you start to worry about something. Stop, sit down, and ask yourself is worrying about something going to change the outcome? The outcome will be the same whether you worry or not. So you are using vast amounts of your emotional energy on something that will never change an outcome. Only doing will change an outcome, so you may as well use your energy on changing something that you are not happy about. Worrying is a wasted emotion...it proves nothing, it changes nothing.

The only thing worry achieves is to cause you to be unhappy and probably end up with ulcers.

Realise this: worrying doesn't change the situation, it just wears you out. You put a lot of energy into all those worst-case scenarios. So either what you're worrying about never actually happens, and you've wasted all that energy, or it DOES, and by that time you're too exhausted to deal with it.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and take what comes, AS it comes. Don't push the river, it'll run by itself.

having been diagnosed with panic and anxiety disorder nine years ago, i feel you pain. living with worry is crippling. it interferes with al aspects of you life. it can cause a lack of overall happiness and conentment. my sincere sympathy.
what can be down about it? i'll over the following sugggestions and hope that you will heed my advice.
1. see a psychiatrist to have your condition properly diagnosed. s/he will listen to your descrition of your symptoms and offer a professional opinion regarding your situation and how to deal with it.
2. most therapies require the use of talk therapy and medicine therapy. make sure you utilize both, they're extremely important
3. i'm pretty sure your doctor will prescribe some type of anti-depressant, worriy is a symptom of depression. it will take the a/d several weeks to feel any significant changes in your emotional health. it will come!
4. don't deviate from your medicine regime. take it when and as prescribed.

you need to attack your worrying now, as it can lead to more severe problems if left untreated. worry is a real illness. however, you CAN overcome it with patience and medical support.

You need to figure out what is causing you to worry all the time. This will then help you deal with the problem and hopefully cause your worrying to decrease. For short term techniques I would suggest controlled breathing exercises, getting plenty of rest or maybe consult your doctor!!

write down things that are worrying you.
next, take your time and look at how YOU can tackle/change the things that worry you. this will get you thinking, and will help you overcome your worries.

depends what it is you are worrying about. if its financial/legal worries, go seek the advice of a professional. if its health related go see a doctor.

a problem shared is a problem halved, so speak to people you trust (colleagues, samaritans, friends, family etc).

think about things that you look foward too in life, problems are just trivial matters that come and go. Live life, smile more - don't waste it by worrying. Worrying won't make things better, the more you worry the more troubled you will be.
I am assuming that you're worrying about trivial matters, not life and death issues.

most worries are simply not true. They are from the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is not u. What would you do if you have a hot object in your hand? Yep.. u let it go. That's what u do to the worries.. let it go. If it comes back let it go again and again..
