Wrap a veggie omelet with a whole wheat tortilla. Mix berries and toasted wheat germ with non-fat yogurt (frozen berries are almost as good as fresh - just take some out of the freezer the night before and put them in the fridge). Have a smoothie made with non-fat yogurt, frozen fruit and skim milk (I like using frozen berries rather than ice because the smoothie has much more flavor; use milk to thin it to the desired consistency). Poached eggs are a good alternative to cooking them in oil or butter. Have toast with almond butter (Trader Joe's carries it; health food stores probably do too) and fruit preserves. Scrambled eggs with tomato slices on whole grain toast is delicious. Mix and match the ideas you're given so you get a good balance of foods.

They just had a diet guru on TV this morning. He said to Always have at least 2 OZ protein at breakfast, Only whole grain carbs, and minimal fruit. Reason being most people eat a bunch of carbs at breakfast, (Cereal, toast, & fruit) and their blood sugar spikes, then crashes, and you are starving by 10 am. Fruit is full of sugar/carbs, so he only recommends fruit, IF you have protien to balance it out.
His idea of a healthy breakfast is a 2 egg omlet, (w/tomato, green pepper & onion) a slice of whole grain toast (No butter...sorry)
Or a cup of low fat yogurt & 1/2 c fruit
Or a bowl of oatmeal with 1 cup of milk & a hard boiled egg, (or low fat cheese)

Here are some ideas I use.
- Two slices of toasted lightly spread with pb, an orange, and apple and a glass of milk.
- Bowl of Cornflakes/Rice Crispies/ or Special K, a boiled egg, glass of orange juice, 1/2 cup yogurt
- A bowl of mixed fruits {at least 2 cups} One slice of toast, one egg, glass of milk
- Bowl of hot oatmeal, an orange, glass of milk, 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 poached eggs on toast or english muffin, glass of orange juice, 1/2 cup yogurt
I haven't put sausages or bacon because I don't like either.
Just make sure you have a full breakfast, or it can make you hungry through the rest of the day if you don't.

For me that is the meal I enjoy the most and have what I like the most. Steak and baked potato some times. A pork chop and fries are good. Spaghetti goes well too. I also have a decent lunch but not so heavy. I eat very light foods for dinner. Dinner is the time I like cereal or fruit and biscuit. I am not fat and am very healthy for nearly 70.

Scramble a doz eggs whites with peppers, onions, turkey sausage or what ever trips your trigger. Put them in the fridge until you need them. In the morning throw a flour tortia on the range for 30 seconds, put the egg mix in w/cheese. You can do it in a minute, take it with you. The egg mixture stay good for two or three days..... or freeze the rest...
