We mean...we really just want to be friends.

Less hurtful too for someone you used to care for.

It means they want to finish the romantic relationship, but not have animosity with their bf, to keep in contact but as non romantic friends.

It can also be a euphemistic way of saying 'I don't want anything to do with you'

If a chick says "I just want to be friends" I recommend you back off, if she changes her mind then you can be lovers again, but if you push her then you won't even be friends.

If you love someone let her go, if she comes back she is yours.

You weren't what she expected. Men will never understand us. Women remember what they want and block out everything else.
If the relationship ended bad don't expect a friend, if ended well expect a smile and hello when you pass but nothing more.

She's trying to let you down easy. Leave a girl alone after she breaks up with you.

They want to be friends, they don't want their dirty laundry out in the open.
