Every word of The Bible is true. We know every word of The Bible is true...because The Bible says every word of The Bible is true.

How ridiculous.

Faith is believing in something without proof of it actually existing. Just because you give it a nice word to define it - you're still choosing to accept something that someone says, without questioning why. If you read a novel or a work of fiction, and someone then told you it was true - you wouldn't just believe it would you? Why are you selective in what you believe on blind faith?

If I invented a religion tomorrow (With the motive of making money and controlling less intelligent people with it) - and you waited a thousand years, would it be so indistinguishable and untraceable back in history that people would blindly believe that too?

Please grow up people.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

I believe in him because I've experienced him. His is the Alpha, Omega, beginning and end--he is the Great I Am and he loves you. He is waiting for you to come to him. He created you for a reason and knows your heart. I believe in Him because I look around and see all he's created for us. You will find him if you seek him with all your heart. Believing Him is not about a religion--it's about a personal relationship with Him. Trusting him and knowing that he is there for me everyday. You seem to want proof and all you need to do is look in the mirror. Every man and woman has different fingerprints and DNA--except for the scientific word for clay(i can't remember it right now-have to look it up). Scientists are discovering that all the DNA they've tested in different people contains this clay. The Bible says that Adam was made from the dust or clay of the earth. God just put it in his hand and breathed life. I'm not sure how they are going to try to explain it away--but it will come to light soon enough.

We can only partially comprehend the notion of God's existence. To do so, we must use human concepts to speak of God: "without beginning or end"; "eternal"; "infinite", etc. The Bible says that He has always existed: " . . . even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God" (Psalm 90:2). And, "Your throne is established from of old; Thou art from everlasting" (Psalm 93:2). Quite simply, God has no beginning and no end. So, where did God come from? He didn't. He always was.
To us, the notion of time is linear. One second follows the next, one minute is after another. We get older, not younger and we cannot repeat the minutes that have passed us by. We have all seen the time lines on charts: early time is on the left and later time is on the right. We see nations, people's lives, and plans mapped out on straight lines from left to right. We see a beginning and an end. But God is "beyond the chart." He has no beginning or end. He simply has always been.
Also, physics has shown that time is a property that is the result of the existence of matter. Time exists when matter exists. Time has even been called the fourth dimension. But God is not matter. In fact, God created matter. He created the universe. So, time began when God created the universe. Before that, God was simply existing and time had no meaning (except conceptually), no relation to Him. Therefore, to ask where God came from is to ask a question that cannot really be applied to God in the first place. Because time has no meaning with God in relation to who He is, eternity is also not something that can be absolutely related to God. God is even beyond eternity.
Eternity is a term that we finite creatures use to express the concept of something that has no end -- and/or no beginning. Since God has no beginning or end, He has no beginning. This is because He is outside of time.

Maybe it's you that needs growing up. People only believe in the Bible because there is a reason to do so. Faith is just a word that goes together with reason.

I don't follow the bible exclusively or much at all and I believe. Growing up is a vague request, yet understandable.
Your point is valid but God isn't exclusive to christians and maybe some of the growing up or learning should be done by all faiths or paths, even yours.

I define "God" as that creative power operative in the universe which transforms human individuals and peoples toward a greater appreciative awareness of rich values. This "God" obviously exists, since there obviously is such a creative power and such a transformation; I can observe these realities empirically. Further, I can empirically determine the conditions necessary to allow this creative power full scope in its operation. My "faith" is my ultimate commitment to this creative power. As to the nature of this creative power, I know that all human ideas are fallible, but that does not empty my faith of meaning.

Many believers have grown up, and you need to read what grown-up believers have to say about the meaning of the words "faith" and "God." Simply because the majority of believers cling to ancient superstition doesn't mean that those words are necessarily devoid of meaning when subjected to a rigorous and rational re-evaluation. I would suggest that you read Wieman, Tillich, and Hartshorne if you're interested in finding out what thinking believers have to say.

As for your invented religion, if it produced any of the positive fruits that historical religions have produced -- such as our notion of the value of the human person -- I would say it was as valid as they are. Hopefully it would produce a little less of the bad fruits -- such as ideological intolerance, violence, and superstition, but it would be unlikely to avoid those pitfalls unless you engaged the best thinkers of liberal religion.

Liberal religion is the world's best hope.

I believe of God.. not because the Bible said so...
But I saw the change in my life.. from a sinner to a loving person who loves everybody and love God....

Romans 8:16 " The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God"

There is something inside me which ensures that I'm a child of God...

It was by the grace of God that Abby woods was returned safely to her parents arms unharmed. It is by the grace of God that millions of women survive child birth every day. It is by the grace of God that more people are not horribly killed on a daily basis and that we have salvation and a knigdom in heaven waiting in us.
