I'm homeschooled, and my b/f goes to a large public school. I was planning on going to Homecoming with him and he told me that I wouldn't have fun (He has never gone to homecoming before, it's his frist year at public school) and asked me if it was okay for him to take his friend instead. I made sure he knew that I wanted to go, and told him "If you don't want me to go, I really don't have to go." So he's taking this girl from his school. So I have a reason to be upset, or am I over reacting??

Sorry that was so long!

You have good reason to be upset, but I hope you don't hold a grudge. This is a good way to see if your boyfriend is worthy; you'll know if he really has YOUR best interest at heart or HIS. On homecoming night, rent the movie "Carrie" with a young Sissy Spacek in the title role; based on a Stephen King novel, it has some homecoming scenes that will probably give you a chuckle, based on your own experience over this.
Put it past you, if you can ... just don't forget. :)

Hey :) Im homeschooled to (9th grade), and i deal with the same sort of problems when it comes to homecoming :(, If the public school is in your district, you can by law, go anyway, because your entitiled to that right or something (?), Do you know anyone else who goes there?
And I would definetly be upset, if my boyfriend decided to take some other chick to homecoming because he says that I "wouldn't have fun"
Why dont you talk to him about it? Explain that you dont like the situation, Im sure he'll understand, and if he doesn't, he's not worth it! Theres plenty more fish in the sea! I hope he reconsiders though, because its definetly not a nice thing that he did..
Anyway email me? I love hearing from other homeschoolers,

God bless

Fiona
Btw, no problem that its long!

I would be upset. It would be different if he was taking a guy friend because he could say he wanted to hang with the guys. I would question his reasons for wanting to be alone with this "girl from school". He must be hiding something. Why can't you all go?

i would be upset, just because you're being home schooled doesn't necessarily mean that you can't or shouldn't go. what does he know about homecoming if he's never been to one. i mean this could be the only time you get to go to one so why shouldnt he let you go. he wants to take another i would be furious. i hit him one. if you're the friend you are the one that should go. so answer to your question should you be upset, yes. i will be your friend so you can e-mail me if you want and maybe we could chat.

yeah you should be upset. first because someone invited you someplace and then UNinvited you...that in itself is just plain rude and shows poor manners on his part. second, the fact that he didnt want you to go because he is taking another GIRL is a huge red flag. punch the dude in the nuts and leave him. find yourself a better boy who wants you to go with him.

I would kill my boyfriend if he wanted to take another girl. that's not ok. I would be very upset but that's just me. Some people might not care. If you trust him then maybe you should just forget about it. But way would he want to bring someone else?

I would be very upset.
Sorry, but that 's not very nice at all. Especially as he's taking another girl. Is this girl a threat? And does she know that you are his girlfriend?
I think it's totally justified if your feelings are hurt.

He is playing you. He is either with her or wants to be. You can either fight for him, or let him go, but i will tell you this, if he picked her over you he has already made his choice.

I am so sorry.
