First thing you need to do is shut down the Yahoo Answers and see your doctor. You may have a dangerous infection. The last time I checked, 90% of the answers are pure crap; that means 90% of the answerers stink.

First you should talk to the place where you pierced it. They told me when I had mine done not to use Bactine or any ointment with a petroleum base. I was told to make a solution of sea salt and water (I used regular salt and it worked fine) and clean it with that several times a day and to use antibacterial Dial three time a day. Make sure you move it once a day but don't mess with it too much and make sure to have clean hands when you do. Mine took about 2 months to stop weeping - it never got infected though. If there is redness around the piercing, a foul odor, or heat in it, you should see a doctor for some oral antibiotics.

If the waist of your pants keeps tugging at it put a band-aid over it when you are going to be sitting for a long time. Not tight. just so the snap of you pants cant pull it. Antibacterial soap to cleanse and Bactine. Ointments heal the outside surface skin and the inside can stay raw. try not to use the ointments much.
It can take up to 6 months for them to completely heal. turning the ring 2-3 times a day should be enough.

You're doing the right thing with the bactine. Don't play with it, or move it. You may need to soak it in a sea salt solution. The cup will suction to your stomach for soaking. But first, I would go back to the place where I got it pierced and see what they say. Usually the people there are nice and have dealt with this many times.

i have mine done and it took a long time to heal. clean it with dial soap a few times a day. putting salt and warm water in a small cup and lying down for a little bit helped clean it too, but then later that day i cleaned it with dial again. when it eventually healed, i tried to change the ring. i am allergic to every kind that is cheap, so i have to buy them from a piercing place and spend like 40 bucks. so i usually just use one that i got when i first got it done. every now and then i will use another one, but then change it later that day because it starts to hurt. I also dabbed a tiny bit of dial on the ring, and then turned it so i got the soap into the piercing and had a change to clean the whole ring. just leave it alone and keep it really clean. good luck

when i got my belly pierced it only took 2 weeks for it to heal...so you could have an infection and may have to take it out. Bactine is good to use and I found that Mecca ointment is the best for piercing...as well as tatoos. Soak in salt water baths as well.

OK.... number one you could be allergic to the type of metal they used. 2 you should not be even touching your jewlery or surrounding area EXCEPT to clean it with antibacterial liquid soap.
STOP using the ointments you are using and only clean your belly when you shower or swim or workout etc.............
stop touching it and using the ointment. That is just a playing ground for bacteria whenyou put all that stuff on it which is causing it to take longer to heal!!!!
I promise if you listen to me this will work, unless you are allergic to the jewlery in that case you need ot have a prefessional change the jewlery for you to a different metal or your skin is going to push the metal out and you will have an ugly scar.

My first concern is have you changed the belly ring? If you have you must put the same one back in that was originally put there...(I'm assuming that it was done by a professional)! If you must change it only put in a titanium belly ring. The less expensive jewelry is made of cheaper metals and will only irritate the piercing..Like everything else it will heal nicely...(Keep using the antibiotic cream!!!)

yes, mine took a while to heal because i was allergic to the button on my jeans, but once i sorted that it was fine, try a weak soulution of hydrogen peroxide, avaliable from chemists, it look quite dramatic as the infection fizzes away but it is good and will not only sterilise but fight infection. i dont recommend antibiotics as they are only good for one usage with germs and immunisation.

if you have an infection however and have been prescirbed it then use away.
