Roman Baths are well worth seeing - museum including archealogical remains of old Roman Baths, Georgian pump room cafe/restaurant with String quartet and chance to sample (taste) hot Spring Water - which is safe to drink as it comes from a deep underground source.

Spa treatments are available at the new Thermae Bath Spa which is located 1 minutes walk from the Roman Baths. See http://www.thermaebathspa.com/ for details. It's not cheap but the facilities look superb, including open swimming pool on the roof.

None of the other spas use the hot spring waters. The Bath Spa Hotel is NOT right in the centre of Bath.

Bath Spa (Aquae Sulis) is a gorgeous example of a Roman Bath. You can get close enough to the water to touch it if you want to, though this is discouraged as it's no longer always safe.

You won't find beauty treatments there just museums and Roman culture!

The tea rooms are well worth a look (as is the rest of Bath, it's a beautiful city, so is Wells, close by). You can actually taste the waters there, which rich Victorian people used to do as it is believed to be very good for your health (tastes like sulphuric rusty nails though! :P ). They sometimes have a live string quartet playing there too - lovely atmosphere.

Go expecting English charm, heritage and wonderful architecture and you'll have a great time.

Enjoy!

the actual ancient Roman Baths in BATH, UK are not for public use.

mind you, i wouldnt go in that water even if someone paid me !

yes i am serious, the system is centuries old yet works perfectly fine, however you wouldnt like to step in that water. infact you are not allowed to touch it (it is not hygienic)

so dont worry about booking anything, you are not going to be able to have a bath there. just make your way to Bath and buy tickets at entrance and enjoy the place. tickets arent too expensive - i think about 12 pounds each, but keeps changing as per season etc.

its very historic and amazing how people must have built it all those years ago. nice place to visit !

dont forget to pick up those guide speaking things, that tell you what room was what in oldern times ! good fun !

:) hope you enjoy

You can not bathe there and it's quite expensive to get in. The water looks filthy in any case. But it's well worth a look.

There was some sort of tea room attached to the place, with loads of old ladies drinking tea. And a small chamber orchestra, while I was there.

But no, you can't DO anything. You just have to look at old things.

You can find the website for the roman baths in Bath at http://www.romanbaths.co.uk/

There is also a new spa that I believe should have finally opened after a lot of setbacks (I am currently out of the country, so not sure what is happening), but go to this site for the latest information.

Enjoy your trip.

Apart from visiting the baths you can get treatments in the bath spa hotel (i think thats its name) which is next door and you can also drink the water from the spring.

there is also an interesting cathedral to visit and the center of town is worth checking out as well.

approx £10-12 entry (adult). expensive, but worth it, just as a one off. can see how the romans used to socialise, how the baths were built, a little about their lifestyle - its all good.
i think you can have group tours, cos i've seen em in there, but will probably have to book in advance. you don't have to book in advance, but there is sometimes a queue (at weekends etc).

loadsa different rooms, some underground, some open air. there is a gift shop @ the end.
ENJOY!
