i used to be right where you are- nasty stuff this being female!!! Anyway i solved my problem with ibuprofen (like nurofen but the cheaper own brand stuff is as good as any and cheaper!!) now i dont wait for the pain. At the very first show i take just the 1, and then 1 more if i even get the slighest twinge and nothing develops. keep them with your "femminine supplies" so that when you need to grab one of them you can grab a tablet too.

This works so well for me i wondered if i'd grown out of period pains, so one month i didnt take a tablet- and yep later on i was curled up with a hot water bottle wanting to die!!!!

Although you won't feel like it, moving around is the best thing. I've been for walks at 4am before because of the pain and it does ease it. If it's night time, try a hot water bottle or warm bath before you go to bed. Avoid caffiene, smoking and too much sugar because this will make it worse. Try a brisk walk, it honestly does help.

As crazy as it sounds, a fast walk will work miracles!! Sitting or laying curled up clutching your stomach may seem like the only thing to do but it actually makes the symptoms last longer, you need to exercise the muscles to stop the cramping.

keep your abdominal area warm, with a hot water bottle or something.
pain killers are obvious - but they don't always work for me either.
there's a few exercise things people can do. for example, lay on your back and lift your legs in the air and bend your knees to a 90 degree angle. lift them up and down and slowly move them in a circle. just doing light exercises in that area will ease the pain.
i know from experience.
it always help when i curl into a ball aswell with a hot water bottle on my abdominal area.
i feel your pain.
i hope you feel better soon
god bless

Hi,
it won't help you this time but I promise sit ups help. Keeping your tummy toned and regular exercise on the adominal muscles really help. Otherwise a heat pad, as suggested, and chamomile tea to relax you.

Whenever my stomach hurts, including period pains, I sit down, and take a deep breath, breath deep into your nose and breathe out threw your mouth. Do that a few times, and it should start to ease your stomach. Good luck, feel better.
