Deporting them is costly. So why not give them a green card and let them pay taxes and live like normal citizens?

Neither answer is good.

Deporting *is* very costly and will result in undetermined results since there is no record on who is illegal and who isn't.

Giving them amnesty is also a wrong message. Basicall your saying to Mexico and other nations that you can come here illegally and after a while, we'll give you a green card. They did this in the 80's (I believe) and that solved nothing. Also, giving them a green card and saying they'll pay taxes is also misleading. The new visa-holders can just collect unemployment, take food stamps and use up other federal resources as entitled by law. They work now cause they know they can't get benefits.

The real answer, I know you didn't ask but I'm just gonna say it, is to toughen up border and port security to STOP them from coming illegally. And, enforce the already well written laws that says how to handle illegal aliens.

Deporting them is not as costly as keeping them in our country. They are NOT "normal" citizens - they are unclean, uneducated inhabitants of a third world country that are coming to America for a free ride.

Deport them. Legalizing will actually RAISE the deficit. Try reading about it at the Center for Immigration Studies, you might learn something.

"illegals" is the key word. they illegally breached the borders of the United States. If you take away the right to work without legal paperwork, then they will go back home, and come back through the right channels. by rewarding them with work, because they got here first only penalizes those who are going through the system legally.

there are actually people here with green cards who pay taxes, etc.

they went through the process. let's make it fair and have everyone go through the process.

well the green card would not be free we would probatly have to pay thousands of dollars in fees and penaltys but thats ok because any immigrant will find the way to pay as long as they can have a green card so they can travel to visit there family about paying how many times do i have to tell you all that illegal immigrants do pay taxes in every item we purchase and the majority of illegal immigrants do pay income taxes (they want to make sure they have a way of proving they were in this country in case they ever file for green card )

You are stupid do research and you will see that if amnesty is ganted our national tax deficit will go up 79 billion dollars a year because they will be using more tax money than they contribute. That's why. And the government knows it.
