Tell him the tooth fairy thought he was going to be a naughty boy and skip school today. Shes just magic like that. And that she will not come again tonight if he doesn't make it to school....

Or you can do what I did and cover up the fact that you forgot!
Hide it in his pillow case or in his bed somewhere. I found a small white pebble and replaced it in the spot the tooth was. Then tell him you guys need to take another look and make sure its really not there. We found the pebble and I told her the tooth fairy must have left it as a surprise treat. My daughter believed me, found it and was happy.

Time to be creative mom..find a tiny piece of paper and make some markings on it,,,tell your son it's from the tooth fairy and it says she was running late last night and has to be back at tooth castle before sun rise or risk some child seeing her and she promises that she will be at his house tonight first thing she hears him snoring..this should help..Good Luck

Hide the money under someone else's pillow in the house. Tell him that the Tooth Fairy must have gotten confused and left it in the wrong place.

Why didn't the toothfairy come? Look at it from his view. A child loses his tooth and the toothfair was suppossed to come. All the other kids had the toothfairy come, so now he doesn't feel special. He's upset that she didn't visit him like she does for all the other kids. I would let him know that she only comes to good boys and girls and that when he goes to school she will come. Give it a couple days before you put anything under his pillow to make sure that he knows that bad boys don't get anything. She will make her rounds and I'm sure that he's on her list of stops because he's such a good boy. She'll get there, when she can. Good luck!

okay, you have 2 options....
#1. tell him the truth about the Tooth Fairy and open yourself up to other questions regarding Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, etc.
OR
#2. have him place the tooth back under his pillow, exchange it for the usual anount of money plus an extra 25 cents along with a note signed by the Tooth Fairy saying, "sorry, I'm late."

Tell him that good children get visits from the tooth fairy, and that by doing this and not going to school he wont get a visit. Then tell him that if he goes to school she will come, he will definitely want to go! If money's an issue, give him as much as you can afford, and if he complains, it was because he misbehaved.

Tell him the tooth fairy has a lot of people to visit and they will probably come tonight if not tomorrow night. I can't believe his refusal to go to school is working. I doesn't matter how upset he is. I'd just drag him there even though he is fighting it.

Can you not tell him that if he goes to school and tonight maybe the tooth fairy might come, you could say that maybe she was really busy last night but he will be on the list for tonight. Being angry with him won't solve the problem time and patience will.
