Yes, why not?...I have always tried to be friends with my ex's because i still enjoy their company and we get along, I see no reason why i can't be thier friends. I am in a serious (for the rest of my life) relationship and am really close with my last ex (2 and 1/2 years), my current is aware of this and accepts that we are just friends. If you partner can't trust you when you say an ex is just a friend then your relationship is in trouble...the thing is that every person i have dated has changed me in some way, usually broadened my horizons in terms of film and music- why would i want to loose that????
but on the other hand there are ex's i can't be friends with cause even though they know about my love they still try it on with me!!

NO!
I have two ex girlfriends who I tried to retain friendships with and the first ended up destroying the relationship with the second and the second makes sure I don't date anyone else! I couldn't bring another person into my mess and expect them to understand! I now have very little to do with the first and almost nothing to do with the second. Friendships with exes are just extentions of the good things you got together for in the first place.. a bit like cheating at a relationship by not having the bad bits together!

Noooo. From personal experience. Danger zone. I have a couple of ex's who "strategically" wanted to remain friends in order to wait on the sidelines and pounce in-field at the right time. Women are VERY strategic and they know how to play that waiting game. I used to be that guy who thought there was nothing wrong with it until a couple of ex's showed me their hidden agendas.

Yes! I always tried to leave on good terms, so I still am good friends with most of my ex's and my husband understands.

Im still mates with a couple of my exs. We occasionally meet up for a drink or go down the gym. Wouldn't dream of doing anything else tho. It CAN be completely innocent.

Depends on the new partner. Some women get very very jealous of ex girlfriends.

It's okay, depending on who you're with I suppose.

And if you're single, there's always the prospect of one more time in the sack, :)

Yeah ex's can be friends sometime you may have to wait a while for the bitterness to wear off.

you know I used to be a cynic, but I have an ex and we are such good friends now that we realised our only attraction to each other was as friends, we talk and listen about each others relationships and partners we really are like brother and sister.

yes it is.....my boyfriend is friends with both his ex's, he has children to both, i also get on very well with one of them, the other one does not like me, thats her problem coz i actually do like her, i think she's a little bit jealous..why else would she not like me, it's good to have a friendship with an ex....they are the ones who know you best and if you ever need help...they'll always be there....stay friends with your ex...you never know when your gonna need them

Ex's can be friends but I wouldn't date anyone who told me they were still friends with their ex's. Too many complications go along with that baggage
