I've had dreams like that. Hard to say what caused it, but it doesn't mean you're becoming psychotic. Did you know psychopaths and sociopaths don't have nightmares? It's true. They sleep like babies. Probably has something to do with the fact that they are so morally bankrupt that nothing bothers them...

Everyone above has good answers, but I'll add:
Sit down and write down what your "dream victim" means to you. If you know the person, start with the obvious, for instance, "sister, uncle, co-worker", etc. Then start listing words that describe this person (qualities work best, for instance, say you wrote "innocent, vindictive, etc."). If you don't know the person (a stranger), writer that down, too "stranger", and then list words that describe this stranger as you see him/her or the "vibe" you got from the person in the dream.. sometimes if the person is a certain gender or race, you can write down words that come to you when you see encounter people like this in your real life.
And because I subscribe to the Jungian (Carl Jung) notion that all people in your dream are just other aspects of yourself, here's what I would do next:
Put it all together (for instance)- if you dreamt that you killed your baby sister and she evoked the quality of "innocence" to you, then perhaps you feel as though (whether you consciously know it or not) that a part of your own innocence is being violated or killed by yourself or that you are allowing someone else in your (real, waking) life to kill your innocence. This was just one example, you kind of have to play around with whatever you originally wrote down to figure out how it all fits in.
You can write me at my email link if you would like to hear what I would specifically think of your dream, I've been analyzing my own since I was 7 or so, because I've always have weird dreams- interesting ones or scary ones.
I will say that you must take into account how you felt while you were dreaming. Were you very scared? Were you nonchalant? Were you in control of the situation? So many questions to ask yourself. Once again, I can help you more if I know more details.
Also, the scarier the dream, the more important the message is that your subconscious is trying to convey to you. Most people dream every night, even if they say they don't. Many times, you will have consecutive nights whereupon you will dream the same message (even if the dreams themselves don't seem related at all- but the message in each of the dreams is the same), but if you don't get the message after your mind has tried many different ways to tell you, sometimes your mind will try to scare you into paying attention to the message which is obviously a very important lesson in your life right now. Sorry for the run-on sentence.
Good luck.

Sometimes dreaming about killing someone can be a good thingl You may be going through a transitional point in your life. Killing someone in a dream does not necessarily mean you want to kill someone. Sometimes the person you are killing is yourself. But you are really not killing yourself physically, you are killing parts of you that are making you unhappy. That is what I mean when I say you may be going through a real change in your life and the killing is just you subconsious killing parts of you that are going to make you a better person. Why dont you consult a dream therapist. Not all we dream about mean what you think it does. People usually dream in a symbolic way, and it usally has something to do with yourself and what needs to be done to improve your life. It could have many interpretations, so seeing someone who specialises in the meanings of dreams may be able to help you a lot more than peoples ideas on here.

It doesn't mean you would actually kill someone, you are more likely to feel this way if you are a little depressed or if you think your creativity is being suppressed by people around you. The trick is to decide if you are passive or not. If you are passive, and shy away from confrontation, you may be passive aggressive, and the dream may represent a desire to avenge past hurts. If you dont think you're passive then you have an obstacle to overcome in your life, and you are nearly there. Just a little further, in other words you are about to overcome something.

There are two major reasons you may dream that..
1. media effect - too much news, movie will play important part of your subconscious mind.
2. Anger - if you are angry with someone, you can't do anything in reality, venting out in dream is one of the method.
In your case, yes movie/show made your dream. Your mind is like a recorder playing back what you experience earlier in the day time.

I dreamed that I shot this guy. He wasnt dead, so I shot him 5 more times to put him out of his misery. He still didn't die. It was a horrible nightmare. Another time, I dreamed that I tried to kill a vampire. But I couldn't find a wooden stake, so I tried a broom handle. It just made him really mad.
Shakespeare said, "We are such stuff that dreams are made on." I guess that means we're terrible people.

No, but I was mad at someone once and I dreamed that I poisoned her dog. Also, the other night I dreamt that I made love to Laura Prepon, even though I'm gay.

May be its the need of your subconscious mind. So at any time you feel hatred or angry over anyone or anything just write the whole matter down or write the persons name on paper and burn it or tear it and destroy it any way you want. This way you are letting out your inbuilt pressure and temper.
