Do conservatives ever ask themselves "What do I really know to be fact?"
Do they tend to answer their own question with an answer like "Everybody knows that silly!" type of response?

karlkalis...: It's not a sad thing to think outside the box occasionally too. It seems most people have grown so accustomed to the box that they can't see a feasible way out of it, further more, generation after generation think the the box is now life.
Warning: The State of The Union has shown the box can cause depression and loss of apetite for living.

runningvi...: I agree about seatbelts, and mostly anything to do with people and their own business , but unless we rid ourselves of these lame liberal, conservative titles we wear like a badge of honor, nothing will accomplished.
On one hand you have less government telling you what to do, but on the other you have corporations who will come just short of killing you to make as much profit off you as possible.
Time to rethink the social structure including government, liberty and the pursuit of profits.. (Didn't it used to be hapiness?)

Oh, nevermind it's not Liberals and Conservatives, it's Democrates and Republicans. Bah! Sheeple.
And by the way I don't blame Bush, it's the people who are advising him on what to do. Every stride he seems to make is in favor of big money.
To be honest I don't put any faith in a system that requires a man to be worth millions to even be considered for the role of president.
We don't elect presidents anymore, we help elect CEOs! (Available in two colors, Blue and Red.)

Even when faced with the truth, many will not want to accept it if it goes against what they want or have always known to be true.

Why should authority always be questioned? Is it alright by you liberals to be content with things as they are, why must you constantly complain about every last thing? What is wrong with taking things slowly? What is wrong with applying reason and responsibility to your decisions? Why must soceity, economy always been a state of change for liberals to be happy? Or is it that liberals cannot stand the fact that not everyone in this country wants a nanny state, high taxes, and moral relativisim running the country, and that they refuese to accept the fact that not all nations and leaders of nations(Iran,Syria, Lebanon, China, Russia etc.) are honest and some want us to be destroyed, and that calling evil what it is, is a good thing.
I'm a conservative, but by no means do I vote a "straight party ticket" for the GOP. I study every issue and every candidate for every election, I've ever voted in...and that's been some years now. I don't agree with the President some of the time, nor do I agree with my party all of the time.

I have a conservative friend who told me that I am not a true conservative because I wear my seat belt in the car! He won't wear one because he feels that the government doesn't have the right to tell us whether or not to wear a seat belt. I explained to him that I wear it for safety reasons because I am a mom and I have others depending upon me to be around. In this case, of course I have looked at the facts and in many cases, wearing a seat belt saves lives and/or prevents serious injuries.
Classic liberals want more government control here in own country. They want the government to take away guns, to force people to be healthy, and to throw more money at problems such as low educational scores rather than fixing those problems. On the other hand, liberals do not want us going into other countries and telling them what their laws should be or how to they should live. In other words, liberals question the authority of the government when it comes to foreign affairs, while conservatives question the government when it comes to domestic affairs.
I would never tell anyone that their view is just silly. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Instead, I explain why I believe differently or I say, "well, I guess we have different opinions on this one and are just not going to agree."

I could ask the same thing of liberals. I always look at the facts and question if its the right thing to do. Just because I don't agree with your viewpoint doesn't mean that I haven't seriously looked at the facts and put thought into my opinion. Nor is my opinion cast in stone, I'm constantly reviewing the information as new information is comes to my attention.
For your information I didn't always disagree with everything Clinton said and did. There were times I did agree with what he wanted to do but more often than not I disagreed, not because I didn't thoughtfully consider all possibilities but rather that I happened to have a different viewpoint of what should be the right thing to do.
I have an extremely conservative friend who loathed Clinton and disagreed with anything and everything Clinton said because of his hatred for the man. I challenged him once not to let Clinton make up his (my friends) mind for him. He asked me, "What do you mean? I don't let him make up my mind for me!" I replied, "Yes, you do. You hate the man so badly that you instantly disagree with everything he says or wants to do, therefore you're basing YOUR decision on what HE says or does."
I would challenge all liberals to not make the same mistake concerning Bush. Just because you hate him doesn't mean every utterance from his lips and every decision he makes is wrong. If you do that then are relinquishing your own decision making to someone you hate.

True conservatives are those that think there should be NO authority. Small government is the goal. Less laws, less taxes. More freedom.
The concept of authority is what has caused the most genocide in the world in the last 100 years. We are headed down the same path with our mindless following of a huge central government.

As a previous writer wrote, conservatives believe in lower taxes, smaller government, strong national defense, and strong law enforcement.
I look at the liberal block out there, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, etc. and they all say they are out to protect us.
Lets take a look at one issue, the NSA program was designed to listen to terrorists calling within the USA and outside the USA. There are over a billion phones in the country. Do you really think someone is going to pick up the phone to hear you talk dirty to your girlfriend? Does Bush and the conservatives really care about this?
What about the Geneva convention? The Geneva convention was meant as a code of conduct between uniformed soldiers. Last time I looked, a terrorist dresses up like a woman and blows theselves up. None of them wear uniforms, so therefore they are not covered by the Geneva convention standards.
What about our soldiers? I have a cousin in Baghdad as I write this. He tells me that John Murtha, John Kerry, and other liberals are emboldening the terrorists with their crap talk about pulling out. So are democrats whimps because they cannot stand a little heat? We need to back our soldiers no questions asked while we are in this conflict.
What about the judge issue? Democrats blocked many great judges simply because they didn't like how they ruled on a specific case. I guess they don't like people who know how to read the constitution and interpret what it has to say. No where in the constitution does it say that there must be seperation of church and state. The constitution states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." Basically what this is saying that Congress cannot say Islam is the national religion and you cannot practice Catholicism. But liberals read this as being that "church and state must be seperate", so who can read and are the real thinkers? And who is adding words to documents that are not there. Liberals / Democrats with an agenda.
These individuals sound like absolute idiots when they speak and basically represent the uneducated and the lazy people of society. No one in the democratic party ever dissents with the leadership and if they do they are black balled. Look at Joe Lieberman. Great man, sees what is happening in the world is wrong, but the democratic party wants him out because he does not play follow the leader on one issue.
Democrats are weak on defense, like to give money to lazy people, don't have any ideas of their own to solve the social security problems and when someone does, it is a dangerous idea. They want higher taxes so they can basically steal from the hard working americans to give to the lazy ones. They are on the wrong side of the terrorism issue, etc.
So obviously democrats can do nothing but piss and moan about things and cannot offer any real solutions. According to Al Gore, we are all going to die of global warming in a little over 9 years.
I think your democratic leaders have brain washed you. Because if you were free thinking, you would not ask such a stupid question.

I know many Republicans, I play golf with them. When I ask them why do we allow the death of over 2670 of our service men in Iraq?. They always say the same "that's what happens in war".
In other words "it's OK" not a problem, for them. What they care about is tax cuts for the wealthy and ending Social Security. That is fact. There Greed and lust for power over others wins out every time. As long as it's not them that must fight and die they rationalize needless death of others with words like "do you know how many are killed in Auto accidents?" Just because they let me take there money at golf does not mean I like them.
BTW, Government has grown bigger under Republicans not smaller. Government control of our life has also grown by leaps and bounds under Republicans. The national debt under Republicans is $9 trillion, the highest in our History as a Republic. These are not the deeds of a true Conservative. Clinton had a balanced budget all 8 years and even paid on the debt twice, he was a true Conservative, he paid for what he spent. Republicans want to wait til after elections to tell us what they will cut to pay for the massive tax cuts they gave the wealthy, Social Security is one thing they have always wanted to end and the Republicans in Congress after elections will cry and sob "we want and need a balanced budget". The Iraq war will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion and the Republicans want you the working class to pay for that mistake they made not them. That is fact.

Of course conservatives question authority, they question the self proclaimed liberal moral authority especially, its just that most people don't see it because they are too brainwashed by the "fact" that conservatives are sheep.
Funny thing is, most liberals accept the "fact" that conservatives are sheep without ever questioning it. It's a sad thing to be a liberal.

I consider myself to be a conservative. I make my voting decisions based on how much more money is this going to cost me? and is it worth the cost? Usually, I vote no on anything which will raise taxes. I tend to vote against people who are for creating taxes. If you start adding up all the monies that the goverment (local, city, county, state, national) collects not just income tax, but " registration "fees, like licenses; toll roads when you already contribute tax money to build roads; sales tax; metro tax;property tax. When you add all these together they make up to 50%, some years, of my personal income.

Feminism is a thought I extremely have subject helping as that's. i've got self belief that one and all races and genders of human beings must be equivalent. And it form of sounds like singling out a race or gender to seek for particular modifications that attempt to stability the scales in user-friendly terms greater separate us as human beings. equivalent freedom to do something you want (interior the constraints of the guidelines of guy and technological awareness) already exists. Somethings are greater problematic to a female vs a guy, and vice versa, and easily we don't want to do away with the ameliorations that define gender, can we? anybody, guy and female, have subjective perspectives and recommendations in line with in spite of has been printed to them with the aid of human beings via books and media. that's no longer brainwashed, that's incomplete archives. How often do human beings, many times, seek for out information to discover all the learning to base their determination? they would not in any respect relax. And who must be relied directly to collect all the mandatory training on a undeniable subject with out bias or involuntary omissions, saving us the time of finding? If in user-friendly terms there grew to become into some thank you to do away with the effect of money from society with out changing issues too lots...

Oh, wait...yes, I have done that. I did it twice a few days ago - one person asked me if the world was round, and the other asked if the Steelers were going to lose Monday night.
