In Henry David Thoreau's Walden Thoreau depicts a war between red and black ants which he happened to witness as a naturalist living in the woods. I really did not like this book as it seemed more like aphorisms than philosohy but I did like this particular portion of the book because from it I realized the source of racism It is basically a fear of the other group that is not known very well as a potential threat. I guess I want you to realize the source of racism that way, as abhorrent as it is, you do not take it personally. Humans do have an ability to see beyond the surface layer of skin and begin to appreciate the character within a person. Be yourself. Be proud of who you are and make sure that you treat your fiance with sensitivity and understanding and maybe over time your future inlaws will begin to like the idea of you becoming their inlaws. However, we cannot change other people. Just be a good and compassionate being and feel proud of that

Unfortunately there are alot of people who claim to be christian, but are not. If her family were truely christian, then they wouldn't care what color you were. So long as you make their daughter happy and can provide a good life for her, that is what is most important. I'm sorry you have to deal with that from her family. Just remember if you follow GOD and believe, it will all be okay. Sometimes even our family members have to realize that they are the ones who is causing the problem. GOD says not to allow bad influences in our lives. Good luck and GOD bless you.

It has nothing to do with Christianity. It has to do with you being dark brown or black. Good following Christians are very conservative. This means they think only one way. Obviously their way is for their daughter to not marry a non-white person.

what difference does it make? if you love each other and She is willing. My ancestor was probably frowned at when he married a Lady of the People ( a Native American ). however today one is proud to claim Native American Ancestry no matter how far back as our Culture and Society has changed. now today our Culture and Society look down and frown on a different race combination. eventually the children of this combination will be accepted and proud of their heritage as Cultures and Societies change.

The plain states ONLY like glazed or white icing on YOUR KIND! No sprinkles, either. That's too fruity for their tastes. Keep it plain and simple. They usually are opposed to finding sticky stuff that squirts out from inside, so none of that stuff either!

If she is an adult, her family should have no say. If she listens to her family then she's not matured enough to get married.
