Railways has been made profitable unethical means. All this hoopla around Lalu's management skills is rubbish. The at-will marking of trains as superfast and then charging surcharge, making the tatkal into virtually a blacking of tickets by the government itself and so many such means that has been resorted to has helped milking the common man and raking in those moolahs. Even the IIM-A had been befooled by this. So you see, these are such means that cannot be enforced on a state.
