Water and Celery, try putting some seasonings on the celery for variety. A favorite of mine is a seasoning called Beau Monde. It's no fun, but it works...........

There are many food that you can still eat while you are dieting and won't blow your diet.
Try eating complex carbs (whole wheat bread and oatmeal-not the suggered kind) both will fill you up and are low in calories and have the right kind of carbs.
Big green salads are terrific when you are on a diet. They are high fiber (keeps you full) and as long as you put a low fat dressing on it the calories will be low. Another alternative is to get the spray on dressings. The only have around 10 calories a spray and you can spray them 3-4 times to get the entire salad tasing good. A green salad with a low fat or spray dressing should only run you around 70 calories. If you use lemon juice instead of a dressing you can cut even more calories.
Drink plenty of water. You will often feel hungry when actually you are just thirsty.
If you like yogurt, buy the low carb, low fat low sugar type and add a teaspoon of low sugar pectin. Pectin can be found in the jelly making section of your grocery store. Pectin is made from apples and will definately keep you full longer than regular yogurt.
Speaking of apples, eat one before each meal or one inbetween each meal, making sure that you eat 3 a day. You will see a big difference in your appetite when you add apples to your det. They are low calorie and the fiber is an added plus. Don't drink apple juice since there is no fiber in it. Eat the apples.

Usually when your body is actually hungry, it means you should eat. Water sometimes helps you get past the feeling, but it doesn't always leave you "full." When I diet, I eat all the time, but I stick to veggies like carrots and celery. Eating those like crazy will not cause you to gain weight. You will probably get bloated, but if you continually do this for a week or two a salad will eventually be enough to fill you up, and the bloating will go away. Actually you should eat more frequently, but in smaller portions. It keeps your metabolism going all day which helps you burn other calories you are not consuming (fat). Eating small amounts even only three times a day will cause your metabolism to slow because your body is trying to conserve energy. Eat your largest meal at lunch as you will have the rest of the day to burn it off. And don't forget breakfast to get your metabolism rolling during the day.

I'm dieting now...and I DEFINITELY get that hungry feeling.
When I do, glass of water is NOT what I want.
True dieting, you should never get hungry. Eat LOTS of little meals during the day. Keep small apples on hand, that helps when you want something sweet.
Walnuts when you want crunchy.
Carrots when you are sitting in front of TV and just need to munch.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. You can use Seth Robert's Shangri-la method combined with your diet. It curbs your hunger.
You just have to take 100 to 400 cal /day from FLAVORLESS calories, within a 2 hour window of not eating anything. It works for a lot of people, including myself.
"According to Roberts, the food you eat impacts your weight by influencing what is known as the body-weight set point. Though this is a term borrowed from engineering, weight-loss researchers have used it to refer to the weight your body “wants to be.”
“The set point is the weight your brain wants you to be,” Roberts says. “Your brain pushes you towards that weight by making you more or less hungry.”
However, one thing that Roberts has discovered is that eating certain foods can actually cause your set point to increase or decrease. There are high-set-point foods, and there are low-set-point foods.
“Some foods cause your set point to increase or decrease based on flavor,” Roberts explains. “Your brain uses flavor as a way of measuring how much food is available in the world. When the flavor-calorie association is strong, you are telling the brain that food is abundant.”

Hunger cravings take 20 minutes to pass. Keep yourself busy for 20 minutes.
Drinking water instead of eating helps.
Also, if you eat a small, healthy snack every 3-4 hours, you will rarely feel hungry.
Good luck!
