Springfield, MO....we're trying to find a place to hold the baby shower in town somewhere indoors...but without breaking the budget. Any ideas?

I would deffinitely say the house of the person planning the party. It allows for an intimate setting, a kitchen to be used for food, drinks etc. A tv for entertainment. Perhaps the backyard to socialize. Bathrooms a plenty for the Mother-to-be. A house can easily be decorated, and most people going to the shoer should be living close by so they would have no trouble finding the location. Deffinitely your best choice if you're trying to save cash and be indoors.

There are a lot of cheap places to have a baby shower if you are creative. Obviously someones house or backyard. Why stay indoors? How about a pretty park or beach for a picnic theme, most have pavilions. Bowling allies are cheep and fun. Some craft stores also host these types of party's and the guests make something for the baby while at the store. A reasonably priced restaurant, breakfast being the most affordable meal. How about at a funky little coffee house, some have music or open mic night featuring poetry or comedy. A lot of museum's and small local attractions have small conference rooms that they let you use for free with admission or at a discounted group rate. There are many affordable fun things out there. Congratulations and have a good time.

We had ours at an "All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet" for lunch in town. Perhaps you can find a place like that which has a set rate per person, even a breakfast or brunch buffet would be nice too! Either way, have fun and enjoy your day!

Someone's house always works out great, your guests feel comfortable and so do you. This way you can spend a little more on decorations and gifts, things of that nature. Good luck, have fun and hope you get lots of gifts!

Congratulations

Have you looked into a park. You could set up some tents and use a yard. Or talk to a friend that has a big back yard.

Yes. I had my first one in a banquet room at the Comfort Inn. It only cost me $125 and I got $25 (the deposit) back , because we left the room undamaged and clean. I had the room for 8 hours.

Your home or the home of a friend or relative is a good idea. Or try a church if you are the religious type of person.
