Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.
With love in Christ.

Even thinking about it is a sin, according to the Catholic church. But hey! you can always confess if you are truly contrite for the 187 times you did it last week - and all is forgiven.

There are sometimes you just have to ignore what ANY religion teaches and go with just your own sense of what is right. Masturbation is a completely normal and healthy act for males and females of all ages. There are no side effects and more and more evidence of substantial short and long term benefits. In my own humble opinion, the Catholic Church is still living back in the 13th Century and is in moral and financial ruin at least partly because of it's outdated and outrageous anti-sex dogma. When I was a lad (a long, long time ago!) my best friend tried to get me to join the Church. When he told me I couldn't play with my weenie anymore, I told him "I don't think so dude!" (or something like that!). I will put own personal standards of decency and morality against any of the bible thumpers, but nobody is going to tell me I can't express my sexuality by means of masturbation. Another religion seems to think it's okay to fly planeloads of innocent people into buildings full of innocent people, declare holy war on all infidels and the virgins will be waiting and yet they feel playing with your privates will send you straight to hell (or wherever!). People have the right to believe any nonsense they want to of course but I also have the right to ignore them or say they are full of sh-t! If I want to jack off (and I do!) I will! PERIOD!

Yes. read the CCC.
It's a sin that's comdemned in the bible and by reason.
You shouldn't go around frenetically rubbing your bodyparts for pleasure.

Every sperm is great

Only if you don't have an indulgence.
I think they're selling those again actually.
It's kind of like a "get out of jail" card for catholics.
Pretty pathetic isn't it?
