I know i can't take the bottle in my hand baggage, but what about a small amount of solution in the lens carriers. Having no luck/response from my local airport.

I work for TSA (the agency which handles aviation security in the US) and I don't know where everyone else got these answers but here is the truth.

Yes, you can transport your lens solution, as long as it is less than 4 oz, which, if it is in your lens carrier, I suppose it would be. You can transport the bottle if it is less than 4 oz, too. For more information, visit www.tsa.gov and look at the prohibited items list, specifically the one re: makeup and personal items.

I flew 3 weeks ago and I was told you could bring a small bottle of eye drops (can't remember size exactly). You know, the first week or so of the restrictions they said no liquid or gels whatsoever. Then they realized that for long flights they were asking the impossible, so they said infant formula and a couple of other things were okay, eye drops being on the list. So I'd say you could definitely put some solution in the case. Same diff.
I never wear my contacts on long flights anyway. . .can't you just wear glasses? It's better for your eyes in that dry air. . .!

Yes, but you have to wrap it in a condom and swallow it. The first half of it is not that difficult, its the last half that's the deucy. Getting it out is another topic.

Another suggestion: take the lens carrier empty of any fluid. Once you're on the plane you can fill them up with urine and drop your contacts in there... urine is even better than the over-the-counter solution, or so I hear. You've got to think outside the box these days...

you know what they say about extreme circumstances.

Finally another TSA worker that can answer question right, as far as your question about the contact solution, yes, here in the US you can take a 4oz bottle or less on the flight with you.

Taking into account the current events, its unlikely that they will let you carry it with you especially if you are flying to USA or Britain. I would suggest that you dont carry it, so that you can avoid any sort of problems with the customs. Any way you can always buy a new bottle where you land.
