I'm not sure what you are asking. Word is a great word processor program. Are you wanting to compare it to another?

This is only my personal opinion but I have been using Word MS from 97 to XP Professional which I have now for more than 6 years. I have tried others and none can compare to the tools that Word offers plus you can utilize MS Office with Word also. I am still discovering new tools to use with Word and know that I still don't know them all. Whenever I want to know if Word will do something I need done I just go into Microsoft help and type in a question and always the answer comes back telling me how to make it do what I want. Haven't asked MS if it will give me a hug and a kiss but it might.

Microsoft Word is brilliant if you are familiar with Windows and know all the keyboard shortcuts. Using the Ctrl button with other buttons can do literally every command you want.. Ive been using MS Word for years and I don't hardly use my mouse any more.
Also, Windows is so widely used that you are almost guaranteed that any other computer you use will support the file. I know Apple files could not be opened on any machine but a Mac before, but this may have been changed since.
