There are a few things known to man, that provide a fantastic sense of clarity in the mind or spirit. There's love, fornication, certain foods, drink or drugs.. And of course there's poetry, music, other forms of art, and the inspiration from anything that challenges your current world view. Certain newspaper articles could even do that, for example. Others need travel or extreme sports to refresh their spirits.

Any of the above are wrong in the church, on different levels. Could that be because people need to be dumb to have faith? Could world peace then become a reality if next door to every congegration, we'd open an EasyPeace den, where poets and artists orate poetry and brilliant columns, accompagnied by live music and other artistry, while the audience drink dandelion wine, absynth and whiskies, smoke cannabis, have great sex and free travel passes or skydiving vouchers at the exit?

I apologise, I realise the question is too long to answer. Just write any crap you like to get 2 points, and the least interesting answer will be chosen the best.

Do you believe there are enough individuals with the advanced education to offer lessons to the uninitiated masses? The old adage "Those who can do, those who can't teach" (or possibly "preach"), could, perhaps, have some semblance of seriousness in a matter such as this.

You will do for me, so long as I do for you...

That is a quite brilliant post and I'm not sure there is any answer but I - for myself - believe we have to overcome sensual pleasure and seek a higher purpose - doesn't have to be religion but, should we not all try to leave the world no worse for our passing? Just a matter of what you feel is right and wrong and whether there will be a price to pay if you do harm and something about the human condition always wants to lash out on a personal level or a national one - war and fighting. Yeah may be they should put something in the water to keep us all docile - "Brave New World" Aldous Huxley? but could it be our fight or flight and systems will always get the better of our world and may be those who make weapons already are 'doping' us or what would be the point of them? You are not going to make much money if all those weapons and ammunition don't get used

Education is our sixth sense...Education isn't how much you committed to memory..,or even how much you know. Its being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't.Its knowing where to go to find out what you need to know...;and its not knowing how to use the information once you get it.The essence of education is over coming a difficulty.

Lets hope world peace will happen....eventually.

NO! No amount of knowledge can bring about peace. What you describe sounds like a Roman orgy, look where it got them. You say you want peace but from your description it seems you really want the things of this world. It's one or the other. By the way nobody gets peace without living in love, true love not carnal.

Not sure about the drugs and alcohol, or the commune ethos, but certainly there are a lot of closed minds when it comes to faith and religion.

I think it would work better if we put more emphasis on learning about science and art, rather than drugs and sex. Although I have to say, I'm all for absinthe and whisky.
