Reason to believe: You are selfish and cowardly and want to live forever in "heaven".

Reason not to believe: You are intelligent enough to see that it is all a story.

Forget spirituality here is the hard sience. Every thing about the moon is wrong! it is 40000 times smaller than the sun but it is 40000 closer so they look the same size. the sun and moon formed most early religons. It is spinning the wrong way, if you were to look down on the solar system all things spin in a clockwise way but the moon is spinning anti clockwise. if the moon was spinning clock wise a day and a night would only last 8 hours not enough for intelegent life to evolve. When apollo 13 ejected its landing module it crashed in to the moon, the impact was picked up by equipment put down by apollo 12, the moon vibrated for 3 hours after the impact. there is only 1 explenation for this the moon is hollow. nasa have never investegated this for 1 reason- it is impossable. If you look at the world around you you will see so much evedence that we are the product of creation not evolution that there can be no doubt!

There is no reason not to beleive ib god you are berrying your head in the sand

Best reason to believe in god: lots of other people do, and so it's the easy path.

Best reason not to believe in god: there is no god, so not believing is the honest path.

I do think that both really are good reasons, and it's not too hard to see that many believers here choose that path simply because they're overwhelmed by life already and need the easier way out here (I'm mainly talking about all of the recovering alcoholics, drug-users, people who were abused, etc.). It's hard to blame them for wanting to avoid the extra challenges of disbelief.

Later: Oh, god, I love the "hollow moon" answer below. Amazing.

Intelligent design theory: Everything in the universe is working together so harmoniously that it could not have been created by the blind force of nature alone. There has to be an "intelligent designer" a.k.a God.

1 reason not to believe? Theres no point worrying about something that u cant do anything about. Live for today. Do good things because your conscience tell you and not for reward in heaven.

I think its nice to think that the big guy has your back so you can push yourself harder than normal but If I have to leave the facts of science behind and only believe in an untested book for answers then the price is a little high

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

Reason to believe in God? Because you feel that God exists.

Reason not to believe in God? Because you don't feel that God exists.

It's that simple, really.

Reasons not to: What's really the big deal even if he Did created me? That worked for me. And why should I care about my soul that god says he will save which I need also to 'believe' in its existance without any evidance?
Reasons to: none
