I recently received a 2-month old chihuahua puppy as a birthday gift and decided to keep it. I'm a male college student but fear walking in public with her because people might view me as "gay" or "feminine", an image I would hate to portray. I am overthinking the situation? What would you do?

Chihuahua = feminine? Since when?! My son currently has 2 Chihuahua/Shih Tzu pups (both males) that he is quite fond of. Before these ones, he had a Chihuahua/Shih Tzu dog for 11 years.... kind of reminded me of a Mini Pinscher on steroids *smile* He was one bad lil puppy though. Very protective of my son. You are a college student so you should be smart enough to acknowledge the breed of dog does not nor should it define who you are as a man. Best of luck to you and your lil girl *smile*

Keep it dogs do not portray people as anything however walking it around in a bad would be a different story however if you don't want people to see it when they come over its best to get it it's own room (Like laundry room) And put one of those toddler sofa's in it alone with a bone and other things to keep it occupied why get rid of a dog you haven't even gotten much time to know but right now your the only thing it knows (usually dogs cry half the night for a week when people take them away from their mom, think about it your its mom-or-dad to make you feel better however I don't have any problem saying I'm my dog's mom)

Oh and Abra That REALLY wasn't necessary just plain scary

I have a friend who is 6'4' weighs 250 lbs of pure muscle and was the Stick and Knife Fighting Champion of the World several years ago and he has a tiny little chihuahua, so my answer would be NO, it does not make you seem gay.

Keep your dog! Who cares what they are saying! Your pleasures come 1st in life, not theirs.
If they are talking about you, they are letting someone else rest!
Besides alot of men have owned a Chihuahua. They may be little but have good bites! Watch the ankles!

Oh no i have mom dad and baby and my husband walks and play with them all the time. The baby is full grown and might weigh 3 lbs. Once you get attached to them they are more like one of your kids. Most ppl like them and the girls around here seem to love them. So dont give her up just because you are afraid of what ppl may think. Keep her and enjoy her.

Wearing a dress with heals and make up makes you feminine. After your pup gets all her shots take her walks. The girls will love it!!! Girls love little dogs, big dogs any man with a dog. Its always a conversation starter

Whew... tough one! I would probably think you're gay if i saw you but that's me. Just be secure in your own sexuality and forget about what I and others think. Now if you put a pink ribbon on her and have matching sneakers or belt... then I would worry, lol!

Just give her a good home and you're good in my book!

Anything a woman says about this question is totally irrelevant!

You must feel very insecure about your sexuality if you think that having a certain breed of dog would make you seem more feminine.

Haven't you heard? Grown men and small dogs are in today. They are easier to take care of, and they are chick magnets. And no they don't make you look feminine. I like the look.

Dogs do not define you... You define you!

Dogs are mans best friend. If you feel you are taking good care, loving, and giving this dog everything....its for you and NO ONE else.

Plus, who cares what others may think. Their probably just jealous they dont have something as deicated to them!
