YOUCH!!
THAT MAKES MY EYES WATER !
seriously though,
if it will create issues at school ,maybe it would be more sensible, to postpone the nose piercing , till you are leaving school .
I do know, you can get very discrete small "keepers " ,
which may be 'over-looked', by even the most gimlet eyed teacher .
Good luck, whichever way you decide

Nostril retainers are not good for initial piercings, the healing time on a nostril is 2 months to 1 year, so be prepared to not be able to change the jewelry for as long as 1 year in a worst case senario. The only way to hide it for something like school would be to cover it with a band aid, you can not put makeup on or around a healing piercing without risking serious infection. Some places will do the piercing with a small nostril screw (stud) but it will still be swollen for the first few days. I had my apprentice do mine with a small stud that is barely noticeable, however depending on how strict your school is even a small stud may be an issue, why not have your parents talk to them and find out if it will be ok as long as it is small.

As you have to have it pieced with a specific sized stud initially - to make the hole and keep it open, and will have to leave the stud in for a certain length of time (while the skin around it heals) - you cant take it out. If you do, it'll be likely to get infected and/or close up. If you're not going to be allowed to wear it every day, for at least the first 3-4 weeks, seriously, dont get it done yet. Wait till you can.

When it's peirced the peircing has to stay in for at least 6 weeks before you can remove it (or so I was told when mine was done). They peirce it with a needle and then put a huge surgical steel / titatnium stud in it to stop it closing up - it's a lot bigger than you'd think. You can't remove it for 6 weeks and covering it is not easy unless you want to stick a plaster on your nose.
It's only after that that you can take it out and start putting smaller studs in.
If you're going to have to cover it up or hide it then don't get it done. It'll be more trouble that it's worth.

I had the same problem when I was in school. I just cut the head off a normal stud, leaving a tiny piece of metal to stop it slipping through the hole. It never got noticed. The clear stud is a good choice also.

Alot of times school says you cant have a peircing, but if its really tiny(even a regular stud) they wont say much. I have my nose peirced and i love it! It doesnt hurt much. =] And You can always ask If they can peirce it with a retainer. But DONT change it around alot while its healing.( like dont put a retainer in for school, then change it when you get home) Keep the same jewelery in it for awhile. Then you can possibly just change it out for school.(after a month or so)
Good luck =]

I don't think you can hide them, if you take it out for school it will heal over and then you'll have to keep opening it up when you get home which will make it all sore and swollen.
Perhaps better off waiting until school holidays to give it time to heal around the stud....

in all probability a nostril piercing simply by fact the place I stay abdomen button piercings are quite uncomplicated and nostril piercings look great (i'm speaking relating to the fringe of your nostril in case you recommend the interior then abdomen button simply by fact the interior piercings make you appear to be a bull)

As it will look like a big metal wart or perhaps a staple holding your nose together or even a birth deffect that makes you llok like a sort of brainless fashion victim,,,,i guess you shouldn't bother.
They don't look good! Guys don't like them!
You WON'T look cool and individual and when you eventually realise that most people think your stupid for getting it done, you will have a big hole in your nose for ever that looks a bit like a big spot.
