As a kid I was forced to take naps in kindergarten, etc. Now that I'm in college, I need naps because classes are actually rigorous and I feel tired more often. Why don't adolescents and young adults get to take naps whereas energetic kids are forced to?

Naps are normally encouraged for youth because so many functions are still forming, and rest promotes healthy formation.

If you're tired, are you sleeping 8 hours at night?

The younger you are the more sleep you need. My three year old, sleeps about 12 hours a night, usually with a nap lasting a couple of hours during the day. I'm 32, I can get by with 6 hours of sleep. My step-dad's mom, who is in her early 80's sleeps maybe 4 to 6. You probably need a nap now because of the extra work your brain is putting in at school.

Youve go tthe answer...Kids are energetic ,which is why they need more sleep. As we grow older ,people stop utilising time like kids normally do,for obvious reasons, ofcourse!!
We tend to get lazier and bore ourselves with mundane work. So,sleep always seems like a better option.

So you're suggesting that nap time be part of the college curriculum. Let me sleep on it.
